There is good news regarding our student's academic progress in 2022-23 school year!! We celebrate parents, students, teachers, and district leaders in their commitment to helping every child reach their academic dreams.

The NDC Annual Picnic was a great meeting of the community. Everyone shared energy and ideas to support Northville kids, families, schools, businesses, and quality of life. Thanks to Lil The Little Salumi for catering the lunch!

Always glad to talk about our community public schools and our current initiatives, especially around Our Commitment to All, mental health, school safety and the exciting plans stemming from our recently passed 2023 Bond.

I was honored yesterday to attend the graduation ceremony for a Cooke School student in the Board Chambers. Jennifer Bugar, School Supervisor and Beth Santer, Director of Special Services, held the ceremony to honor both student & family. It was a dazzling experience.

The count down to election day is on- Four-Three-Two-One- Election Day, May 2nd! Get in on Saturday to vote early at your clerk's office or go to the polls on Monday. This Zero-increase Bond helps the entire community!!

Did you know there are City and Township Clerk office hours this Saturday for voting on NPS Bond 2023?? If you want to Vote Yes for NPS before Tuesday, you can drop in to your Clerk's office during the following hours. (Note: These offices are only addressing election-related services on Saturday.)

What are the benefits of the bond proposal for residents who don't have students in the District?
Residents without school-aged children derive both direct and indirect benefits from the condition of our school buildings and the quality of our programs. Northville, in particular, is a true community school district, meaning many community members use District facilities after school hours. Having safe and accessible facilities provides a direct benefit for those individuals using District facilities.

In addition, studies show that houses associated with higher-quality schools may command a much higher price premium, indicating a positive correlation between the learning environment and student outcomes, a strong school community, and housing values.

If this bond proposal is approved by voters, it is estimated that the School District will be able to maintain the existing school debt levy (totaling 3.40 mills) and issue the bonds with a ZERO MILL NET INCREASE.

Heads up! For any among us confused about why they received an Absent Voter Ballot application from your local clerk- there is an upcoming Special Election on May 2. Please support this school bond initiative. Good for students and good for community!!
