密西根中文學校 2024 新年晚會將於2月3日（星期六）下午二點至六點舉行。家長可向班代表預訂門票。截至日期是1月20日。

義賣活動於上週圓滿完成，初步估計本次活動為學校募集了$1000的豐碩成果，特別感謝參與規畫及協助的幹部及義工，也謝謝願意透過訂購美食的同時惠澤學校的家庭們，學校非常感謝大家透過不同的方式幫助學校繼續成長茁壯。

12/16/2023週六為聖誕新年假期前最後一個上課日，12/23/2023及12/30/2023停課兩週，祝大家有個平安愉快的假期。

Dear MCS Families,
Thank you so much for all of the parents involved in our annual bake/rummage sale last week to make our event a great success! Our preliminary tally suggests a net income of ~$1000 as a result of great teamwork and family support, for which I am truly grateful!
Tomorrow will also be our last class of 2023 as we head into the holiday break (no class on 12/23/2023 & 12/30/2023) and I would like to wish everyone a safe/merry holiday season.

文書組會再將通訊錄初稿（包括地址和相關資料）放置于公共區域，請每個家庭前往在校稿，確認您的資訊是正確的。這將會是最後一次的校對機會。

這周六下午 1:45也有由家長會長，黃雅玲主持的新年晚會會議。請有關幹部和家長代表踴躍出席。

上周中文學校上課時間臨時被教堂取消，經過和教堂接洽后，以下為補課的日期：
12月2日改爲2月17日上課
3月9日改爲4月6日上課

Dear MCS families and teachers,

The MCS will be hosting the annual bake/rummage sale event this coming Saturday, 12/9/2023, starting at 2pm. Parents who have pre-ordered, please go to cashier Laurie Lee to get the "pickup order" first, and then go to the pick-up area outside the senior classroom to pick up the food. A small amount of food is available for sale on site, please pay through Zelle to [email protected], check or cash.

The Documentation team will place the final draft of the MCS directory on the table outside of the classroom area on this Saturday 12/9/2023 for families to do a final round of proofreading prior to the directory production in the following week.

The Chair of the Parents Association, Ya-Ling Huang will be hosting the kick-off meeting for the Lunar New Year celebration planning meeting this Saturday, 12/9/2023 at 1:45pm.

Last week, the Chinese school classes was canceled by Ward Church in a short notice. After contacting Ward Church, the following are the dates for make-up classes:
12/2/2023 replaced by 2/17/2023
3/9/2024 replaced by 4/6/2024

密西根舞獅隊邀請密西根中文學校一起參加社區公益活動，捐贈衣物及聖誕禮物給Brilliant Detroit (請見flyer) 。我們很難想像底特律有些家庭的父母因故缺席，造成孩子吃穿冏困、無法就學的困境。我們不能代他們的父母照顧這些孩子，但是我們可以捐贈出多餘的物資，給貧困的孩子一個希望，您就是從北極坐馴鹿來送禮物、帶來光亮的聖誕老人🤶🎅。

捐出的物品將會分裝給底特律低收入戶的孩子們，讓年幼的孩童穿戴暖和，有個溫暖的寒冬及快樂的聖誕節。請家長鼓勵學生收集整理，帶來學校，放在借書櫃台旁的集裝箱，我們將在12/2( Sat)捐出。

說明：Brillant Detroit 是底特律社區庇護中心，專門幫忙 0-8歲高需求家庭的幼童，輔導就學、照顧身心健康、提供穩定生活。

Consider buying a few items as gifts for the holidays or bringing to a holiday party.Share with friends and family, co-workers in the area who might be able to stop by the church or make arrangements with you. Some items are perishable, consider bringing a cooler bag on pick up day.Pre-payment is requested due to church rules - pay with Zelle, check, or cash. You will receive an email with the total amount from our organizers with instructions on how to pre-pay.

2. Sign-up to Volunteer to support the fundraiser - Volunteers are needed to Pick up food from vendors (Novi, other), Create order summaries for pick-up date or Organize and help distribute food items at pick-up stations.

Items are priced to help raise funds for the school. Funds can go to support facility rental, teachers, cultural and community building programs, etc.

「112 學年度戀念臺灣-海外僑民兒童或少年至校短期體驗計畫」自10月20日開始申請！

僑委會與教育部國教署合作將於112 學年度下學期恢復辦理「戀念臺灣—海外僑民兒童或少年至校短期體驗計畫」（下稱體驗計畫），歡迎有意帶兒女返臺參與本活動之海外僑民於臺灣時間112年10月20日至112年11月12日提出申請。

體驗對象：隨家人短期返國之6至15歲之海外僑民兒童或少年（體驗者），其父母任一人具中華民國國籍。

報名方式：報名作業採用僑委會「僑務活動報名系統」之報名頁面(https://register.ocac.gov.tw/cht/index.php?/sign/nostalgiafortaiwan )提出申請表。

報名期限：自臺灣時間本年10月20日起至11月12日截止。

體驗期程：自113年3月1日至113年6月30日止，申請體驗天數以5至30個上課日為原則，每人至多申請體驗1次。

Children attending Chinese school not only learn Chinese, but the teachers at the MCS also provide various cultural activities during festivals:

The upper-grade classes introduce the ways of celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival in countries such as Japan, South Korea , Vietnam , and Malaysia .
The third-grade class sits together to eat mooncakes 🥮 and tell Mid-Autumn Festival stories.
The fourth-grade class makes paper clay replica mooncake magnets that look so tempting to bite!
The sixth-grade teacher shared her homemade yolk pastries with everyone 🥰.

There were 15 students representing MCS who participated in the Inter-School Speech Contest last Saturday in Ann Arbor. Our students displayed great performances and all performed well!

密西根中文學校2023演講比賽 回歸實體圓滿成功舉行|北美洲 | 僑務電子報 密西根中文學校於4月15日下午舉行2023年演講比賽。這是在疫情睽違兩年之後，第一次回歸實體舉辦，從未滿五歲的學前班小朋友到高中生，共計有40位學生參與。比賽項目有演講、朗讀、看圖說故事以及多媒體演示等四項。

Michigan Chinese Educators Association (MCEA) is offering a Chinese Folk Arts Summer Camp in Northville, Michigan. The camp will run from August 14th to August 18th, 2023 Monday to Friday from 9AM to 4PM. Students ages Kindergarten - 8th grader in school year 2023-2024 are welcome to participate. No Chinese language skill is required.
The program includes Chinese Yoyo, Shadow Play (Chinese Puppet Show), Martial Arts, Dough Figurines (Chinese Play-Doh), Chinese Percussion Instruments, Chinese Dance, Calligraphy, Chinese Knotting, Paper Cutting (The program might have small changes without notice)
Registration is now open, limited space available.
