Folks, with the holiday season at an end we would like you to know that the Highway department has a Christmas tree drop off spot at the garage. It is on the right side of the driveway as you pull down to the garage. 70R East Main st.
Please note: we donβt except wreaths as they have metal in them and we cannot put them through our chipper. Also, please make sure all ornaments and lights are removed.

Women, only have 8 of you signed up. There needs to be 12 signed up to make this feasible. I will extend the deadline to this Friday, Jan 5th, to help you ladies, since you all just made the magic happen for the holidays! ππ

To help you with your upcoming New Year's Resolutions...
Parks & Rec is bringing back Pick Up Basketball for those over 30! These are fun weekly pick up games. Women will play on Tuesdays starting Jan 9th and Men will play on Thursdays starting Jan. 11. All games are 6:30-8pm.
All games will be played at the LG Nourse Elementary School at 38 Plain St. The gym is a little small but we thought you may appreciate that!

The Norton Community Lions Club has reschedule the reading of the names for the Memorial Tree to Friday, December 8th at 5:30pm by the tree on The Common.
Anyone interested in listening is invited to the Common, or can view the reading live on the Norton Community Lions page.

Now through Friday, December 15th, you can drop off your child(ren)'s letters in the big red mailbox in Town Hall Lobby. Please attach the instruction sheet with your information so we can get the addresses to Santa.
Town Hall is open M-W 8:30am to 4:30pm, Th 8:30am - 7:30pm and F 8:30am -12:30pm.

We have decided to cancel instead of reschedule this year's Festival of Lights.
We need to make sure that the lights are on and ready for Hanukah that beings this Thursday.

Mark you calendars for the Norton kick off to the holidays at the Festival of Lights on Sunday, December 3rd at 5pm on the Town Common!
See the Common and the Menorah light up, Santa arrives in town on a fire truck, get a free photo with him from Allan Litchfield, make some crafts, watch On the Barre perform and sing some carols with the Norton Singers and Norton High Chorus. Kids can make some crafts with the Norton Girl Scouts too.
Norton Fire Dept is also partnering with the C2 Foundation for a toy drive to help Norton Families this holiday season. If you bring a toy donation to the Festival, you will be entered to win a ride to a Norton school on a fire truck!
Also, the Letters to Santa program begins accepting letters on Monday, Nov. 27th. Each child that sends a letter to Santa will receive one back in the mail!
So much going on this holiday season in December!

Join Norton to honor our Veterans at their parade tomorrow which kicks off at 10am.
Parade route starts at the HAY, goes to Plain St., doubles back to the Town Common, then closes with a ceremony at the Trent Memorial.
Not to rush the season but with only 2 weeks left until Thanksgiving, it's not too early to mark your calendar for the Annual Festival of Lights and all that goes along with it.
Sunday, December 3rd starting at 5pm on the Town Common.
This year look for:
* The annual Memorial Lights by the Community Lions Club
* Performances by On the Barre, Norton High Chorus, Norton Singers and our own DJ Stephen Bishop
* The lighting of the tree and menorah
* Watch Santa and Mrs. Clause come to town and visit with them
* Norton Fire Dept. is collecting toys and winter clothing for Christmas is for Kids to help those in need in our area.
Fingers crossed for nice weather...dry or of the white kind would be ok too!
Be sure to come out and honor our Veterans at this Saturday's parade.
The parade kicks off at 10am at the Yelle School.
