BSA Troop 35 - O'Fallon, IL
Welcome to the home of Troop 35 in O'Fallon, IL. We are proud to support a Girl Troop and a Boy Troo
Troops 35G and 35B attended summer camp at Camp Crooked Creek in Shepherdsville, KY this past week. The week started with the Troops being awarded Troop of the Day on Monday. Scouts enjoyed merit badge classes from Chemistry to Small Boat Sailing to Welding - there was no shortage of merit badge offerings. Four scouts were called out during the Order of the Arrow ceremony. Lots of tired scouts and leaders returned home safely on Saturday. Thanks to all the leaders for attending.
Come visit both the Girls Troop and the Boys Troop at the Spirit Of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo today and tomorrow. Your support means the world to us.
The ladies of 35G ventured out to Pine Ridge Scout Camp this past weekend. They had a great viewing of the Northern Lights/geomagnetic event. Hiking, fishing, Totin, and Fire skills were the focus of this trip. Above all, they had plenty of fun, bonding, skits, and laughter. Was another weekend for the memory book. Great work ladies and leaders!!
Do you know the BSA’s vision statement?
🔹Vision Statement🔹
The BSA will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
Both our Scoutmasters and team of adult leaders believe it is important that Troop 35 youths take their skills and leadership out into our community to accomplish the vision of the BSA. We will share their roles in the community.
We will start with Sam Carrol and Hannah Zacharias. Last week these scouts had a promotion ceremony for the OTHS AF JROTC. Both scouts bring their leadership skills to their organization and their many JROTC teams. Congratulations on your promotions. Keep being the great leaders you are.
This past weekend, scouts from Troop 35G ventured to Rhodes France Scout Res and met up with the girls from Troop 475. The girls had a weekend of fun, laughs, new experiences, hiking, fishing, archery, team building, and bonding. A very successful weekend. Scouting brings new friends into your life from all kinds of places. Connect with other troops. You never know when lifelong friends will be found.

The BSA announced a new camp standard April 1st to be implemented at camps across the country this summer. Due to numerous cases of “brain freeze” slushies will no longer be allowed to be sold or served from camp trading posts. The National Office spokesperson commented stating “we want all Scouts to engage in outdoor education, frozen brains don’t work.” The camp staff could not be reached for comment as they are not currently at camp.
Who knew cubs were stronger than boys?
Troop 35 had a busy week. Camping at Beaumont Scout Reservation learning some new recipes and games. Then tonight we helped Pack 35 with their carnival. Smiles, laughter, and fun all around.

A big SHOUT OUT to our scouts Riley, Kaden, Jackson, and Madi for helping out at GSLAC’s Cub Scout Day Camp in O’Fallon this past week. You gave up some of your summer days to make a memorable, fun, and successful week of camp. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. We see your efforts and impact!
I spy some of our Scouts that were out this Memorial Day weekend doing good turns and honoring our fallen veterans.
Happy Mother’s Day to all our scout moms.
Even though Madi joined the troop a few weeks ago and started her BSA journey already, today she got to join her pack and AOL den to do their crossover ceremony. We are blessed with our newest member. It was a beautiful day for the ceremony. Welcome to our newest scout. 👏👏
Happy St Patrick’s Day from our troops to you.
This weekend troop had their skinny cat lock-in. Saturday we adventured out to Scott AFB to the 15 OWS and the heritage plane museum. Thank you LtCol Puckett and SMgt Schmidt for welcoming, talking to, and sharing with the scouts what it is you do. We are very grateful for the opportunity to see your mission firsthand.
Before the weather turned colder and wet for the day, we had one more stop. The scouts were also excited to explore the plane museum. They were able to put their hands on the aircraft last and get up close and personal with them. Not an experience many people in our country do.
