Jim is our Volunteer of the Quarter for the 3d quarter of 2024. Not only has he volunteered for years, he's a regular & even found a warehouse for us for storage!! He made his own cutter, which he's holding, for the plastic wrap for the diapers. Blessings to our volunteers!!

ATTENTION!!! The Metro East Diaper Bank is a 501c3 nonprofit. We have an opportunity to purchase a bulk truck load of diapers for a cheaper price, so we are trying to raise funds through the annual Give STL. This truck load will bring us thousands of diapers and help defray the cost of monthly purchases. Our goal is $7,500. If we could get 300 people to donate $25, we would reach our goal. We are accepting cloth diaper donations. We will have a cloth diaper demo class soon on use and care.

A blessed shout out to the LBB of St. Clair County. They selected us as their charity for the first quarter of 2024: 8,244 diapers, 13,844 wipes & $1,826!!!

Folks don't volunteer for accolades. They volunteer because they have compassion. Our second quarter volunteer for 2024 is Sharetta Thomas. Sharetta has been a regular volunteer with the diaper bank for over 2 years. Saturday she was showing a new volunteer how to pack the diapers. Sharetta, thanks for your time, effort and giving back to the community.

The Metro East Diaper Bank does MORE than supplement diapers. We believe education is very important too, so we offer two parenting education programs per year.

This is our 3d year for our annual Healthy Baby Forum. It is held in different communities. Our first year was at Scott AFB for E5 and below. Our second year was at the O'Fallon Library. This year it will be held in Damiansville for their large Latino population.

We invited an array of speakers over the years: pediatricians, nurse practitioners for prenatal and postnatal care, a literacy expert on the importance of reading to the baby and other children at home; a Doula for a safe prenatal experience; and other community resources. All parents receive donated gift bags.

Lots to do before work today. A diaper donation dropped off by OSF St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton & another person called to bring a check from St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O'Fallon!! A great way to begin the day!! 😊😊

We are now part of the National Diaper Bank Network!!

The fundraiser at the American Legion tonight. They ran out of the delicious chicken lasagna at 6:30!!! There were 4 choices of pasta to choose from. There were even more diapers upstairs donated at Mandy's bar at their chili cook off. Thank you all for coming out & supportibg this event. And to the LBB & the Women of the Moose Lodge 2281 for the fundraiser.

Nathan & Sara had a birthday party & asked their friends to bring diapers. Last fall these kids also had a lemonade stand & donated the proceeds to the diaper bank. Good seeds have been planted in them. I can only imagine what they'll do in their teen & adult years!!

2024 SPRING DIAPER DRIVE in the Village of Albers!

Steve Schomaker, Albers Village President, with Deb Clark, Albers resident and Metro-East Diaper Bank board member, are very happy to announce the 2024 SPRING DIAPER DRIVE in the Village of Albers February 01-29!

In support of the Metro-East Diaper Bank, the Village of Albers Board of Trustees donated $100 to the 2024 SPRING DIAPER DRIVE at their meeting on Monday, February 12, 2024.

EVERYONE is asked to help by donating diapers and/or $$$ to the Metro-East Diaper Bank, providing diapers to LOCAL families! Donations are always accepted at Albers Village Hall, 206 W. Dwight Street, Albers, IL, or by calling Brenda at 618-248-5154.
