We had an amazing event on June 15th at the Garfield Park Football Field in Chicago, where Rich February help schedule patients who test for elevated levels of blood pressure. Over 60 participants got screened and enjoyed a day filled with health, wellness, and community spirit. The weather was hot, but that didn’t stop the fun and excitement from shining through!

A special shoutout to Jennifer and Eve from Westside United and Arkos Health for their invaluable collaboration. Your support helped make this event a resounding success! 💪❤️

🌟 PCC at the State ID Registration Event! 🌟

Rich February and Rosa Malave represented PCC Community Wellness Center at the State ID Registration event on May 30, 2024, at 4734 W. Chicago Ave. They provided crucial support by distributing Narcan kits and engaging with the community.

We had a fantastic time at Oak Park's 50th A Day in Our Village festival on June 2nd! From live music and food to kid-friendly foam fun, it was a day full of celebration.
🐶 Special shoutout to Rosa and Meghan for capturing a memorable moment with a police dog, and to Cecilia, who reunited with a young man she delivered years ago, showcasing the enduring bonds formed through community healthcare.

Last Friday, May 17, 2024, PCC Community Wellness Center proudly participated in the annual Senior Expo hosted at BUILD Inc., Chicago. This event, supported by Congressman Danny K. Davis and Voice Newspaper, brought our vibrant senior community together to celebrate National Older Americans Month.

👵👴 At the expo, seniors enjoyed a day packed with activities, essential health screenings, and workshops on Medicare, fraud protection, and much more. PCC offers to enhance senior health and wellness.

🎉 It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the indispensable role seniors play in our community. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all who participated and made this event a success.

In the past week, we have witnessed a concerning rise in overdose cases, which signals a crucial need for community awareness and support. At PCC Community Wellness Center, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and effective treatment for individuals dealing with Substance Use Disorders (SUD).

If you or someone you know needs help, please contact us at 708-406-3929. We offer a range of services including:

Evaluations for adults using opioids and other substances.
Medication options like Suboxone, Vivitrol, and buprenorphine.
Specialized medication plans for pregnant patients.
Counseling and access to ongoing care at any PCC health center.
Our Chemical Dependency Clinic is accessible for new patients, providing immediate support and medication induction at the PCC Walk-In Wellness Center at West Suburban Medical Center or at PCC Melrose Park Family Health Center.

We accept many major health plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, and offer a discount program for uninsured patients. At PCC, we provide health care to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Congratulations to PCC Community Wellness Center for receiving the Commercial Project of the Year Award from the Cook County Land Bank Authority. The award was presented to PCC during CCLBA’s Annual Awards and Recognition Luncheon on February 22, 2024, for its new Austin Health and Fitness Center, a $22 million project opening this summer. The new center will make high-quality, community-based health care and a fitness center accessible to residents on the Greater West Side of Chicago.

We were honored to host Governor JB Pritzker for a press conference at PCC Community Wellness Center at Steinmetz on Monday. He encouraged Illinois Medicaid customers to complete renewals to ensure continued coverage as Federal pandemic-era policies end.

During the meeting, President and CEO Toni Bush gave a heartwarming speech about growing up as a single parent in high school on public assistance.

“I was a high school student raising a child at 16 and receiving Medicaid. Receiving assistance helped me to raise my daughter, complete my high school and college education, and put me on track to become the CEO of PCC. I am forever grateful for Medicaid and all the other services I received during that time.” Bush said.

The governor reassured Illinoisans there would not be a “coverage cliff,” where everyone loses coverage at one time. Instead, redeterminations will happen on a rolling basis through mid-2024, and all Illinois Medicaid customers’ due dates will be different so that every customer can go through the redetermination process.
