Temperatures Rising. Don't Lose Your Head!

β˜€οΈπŸ”₯ This upcoming summer is set to be an absolute scorcher. But just because the temperature is higher does not mean you will have to participate in fewer activities. If you are working or exercising outside during peak hours, take extra precautions by drinking more water, or you may end up with a dehydration headache. Dehydration headaches may cause pain at the front, back, or on just one side of the head, or the pain may be felt throughout the entire head. Bending the head down or moving it from side to side often worsens the headache. Even simply walking can cause more head pain.

If you develop a dehydration headache, most people can resolve the headache within three hours of drinking water. You don't need to overhydrate. A simple glass or two of water should help in most cases. Drinking too quickly sometimes makes dehydrated people vomit, so taking slow, steady sips is best. You could even start by sucking on a few ice cubes. With more prolonged or severe dehydration, you will require more fluids and lying down for several hours until the pain dissipates.

So plan ahead for the summer heat and drink plenty of water!
