AFTER SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Liberi Enrichment Care is looking for an enthusiastic, attentive Part-Time (PT) After School Counselor to lead, support, and motivate campers (Age 5 to 12 years). The Counselor will help welcome and manage children, Provide homework assistance, Setup, lead, and breakdown activities.
To succeed as a PT Counselor, you should be upbeat, proactive, decisive, responsible and caring while focusing on giving children a fun, safe experience. You should also be organized and possess strong leadership skills.

After School Counselor Hours Are:
Monday: 12pm - 5pm
Tuesday: 12pm- 5pm
Wednesday: 12pm-5pm
Thursday: 12pm-5pm
Friday: 12pm- 5pm

PT Camp Counselor Responsibilities:

Working with other staff members to plan and coordinate activities.
Leading and supporting children as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
Monitoring children to ensure compliance with after school rules and prevent accidents.
Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of after school facilities and equipment.
Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and staff.
Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing after school rules. Participating in staff meetings.

PT After School Counselor Requirements:

Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations.
High School Diploma, equivalent, or active enrollment in school.
Experience with specific activities may be preferred. (specific sport like tennis or soccer, music, art, science, or a specific language like french or spanish)
First aid, CPR, and additional training may be required or beneficial.
Physical ability to participate in activities, run, climb, lift, or support the weight of children. Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations.
High level of responsibility and accountability.
Upbeat, engaging personality.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Compensation: $20 an hour.

Liberi’s After School Enrichment Program offers students and families quality experiences to supplement their education in the classroom and provide extracurricular opportunities.

The projects are designed with a different theme each month, but also consistent weekly classes such as our French language immersion culinary class.

The afterschool program will always include an uniquely creative exploration of science, art, music and sports! Each afternoon begins with a creative roll-call, healthy snack and homework help. Explorers are encouraged to learn about topics by completing enrichment activities each week. The afterschool care is punctuated with free play time, quiet time and choice activity time.

WIZARDS

July 19th - July 23rd

9am-6pm

Craft magic wands, magic brooms and your own golden snitch. Explore the science behind special effects by creating your own potions of bubbly, gooey, sparkly substances and perform a skit for your friends. Learn the famous sport of quidditch and Giant/wizard/elves. End with a “Triwizard“ tournament.

SPACE IS THE PLACE

July 12th - July 16th

9am-6pm

Create stretchy universe slime from different galaxies. Craft planets, rockets, robots and satellites from recycled materials. Explore the science behind space travel. Construct your own electric alien rock musical card. End with a “Big Bang” tournament.

TIME TRAVEL

July 5th - July 9th

9am-6pm

Explore the secrets of ancient civilizations. Travel to ancient Egypt, Mayan tombs, and Prehistoric times. Explore Greek mythology. Make instruments and games that have secret passage ways and hidden bobby traps. Explore a fossil dig. Create a mummy time capsule tomb to discover in 2022. End with a Ancient obstacle course for the entire camp.

LANDS OF LAVA

June 28th July 2nd

9am-6pm

Travel to islands where volcanos erupt and explore the depts of oceans. Craft boats, volcanoes and leis from recycled materials. Explore the science behind boats and volcanoes.
Construct your own ukele and learn to play an island melody. End with a epic water challenge and camp Lua.

FANTASY TRAVEL

June 21st - June 25th

9am-6pm

Explore Animation nations. Craft and race your own Mario cart and avatar. Investigate the science behind origami. Construct mapping games like “pokemon go to capture many type of pokemon”. Create and learn to play amazing string instruments. Learn new strategy performance game and end with obstacle tournament and ultimate scavenger hunt.

WORLD TRAVEL 🌎

June 14th - June 19th

9am - 6pm

Explore 4 different countries around the world.
Craft Brazilian Carnival Mask. Investigate the science behind wind turbine used to generate electricity. Construct games like “kigogo” to challenge your friends and family. Create and learn to play amazing percussion instruments. Learn new strategy performance sports like dragon nest. End with a Liberi Summer Olympics.

Each participant receives a unique Liberi passport to record their travels while exploring new topics and learning something new each day.
