Strozzi Institute
We build better leaders, teams, and coaches using Embodied Learning—a unique neuroscience-based appro http://StrozziInstitute.com
Our mission is to create leaders, teams, & communities who embody pragmatic wisdom, skillful action, & grounded compassion.
The Rationalistic Tradition has taught us the mispercetion and objectification of the body as a "vehicle for transporting our minds," or "the object we need to dress, exercise, feed, make healthy and attractive." The body is an after-thought, if it is considered at all. However, our bodies and ourselves are one in the same– this is our whole self.
If we bring our whole selves into the conversation of learning, we can then begin to explore embodiment: both our inherited, learned habits and new ways of acting, thinking and relating that are aligned with what we most care about. Knowing this, we can go about learning, changing and growing in a different way.
Join us for a 3-hour online workshop with LeeAnn Mallorie
In Embodied Leadership: Tapping into the Wisdom of Your Body, you will learn how to practice listening to your own intuition and trusting the wisdom of your body as an original source of information from which innovative ideas and authentic approaches will spring.
You will exponentially increase your capacity to lead when you engage your whole self — mind, emotions, spirit… and body. And you will learn to use your own embodied presence to uncover innate powers you turned off earlier in your career.

The world keeps changing - this has always been true - and we are in a particular chapter of change that keeps coming with what can feel like more pressure than before. From armed conflicts in over 150 countries, the ongoing assault on Black, Indigenous and People of Color, Women, Q***r and Trans people and
human rights across the US and the world, to the ongoing shifts and changes of
the COVID pandemic ~ how might an increased capacity to be in healthy
relationships serve in our world today?
As the community dojo focused last month on Leadership in challenging times, in
this community dojo, we will spend time together in practice, focusing on mutual
connection and dignity.
Join us Tuesday, August 9 at 8:00am Pacific / 11:00am Eastern / 4:00pm London – to begin building relationships for a better world.

Somatics is a theory of change that places the body at the center of our evolutionary intelligence, adaptation, and learning. Somatics sees the body as inseparable from the whole self, and as a vehicle through which to accelerate growth.
Somatics in practice works through the body to engage our thinking, emotions, commitments, vision, and action to move towards our true self and highest desires.

Are you leading your life or is life leading you?
If you’re asking yourself this question, we invite you to join the Strozzi Institute's Online Community Dojo.
The term dōjō derives from the traditional Japanese arts. It means the “place of training” or the “place of awakening.”
As our founder, Richard Strozzi-Heckler says, “the dojo is an ancient tradition that addresses the concern for self-mastery, learning, sustainability, and innovation.”
In honoring the vast tradition and power behind the word, we have designed our Online Community Dojo events as a way for you to grow in your study of somatics while also building the foundation for a moral, ethical, and spiritual life.

Todays the day! You’re invited to join Strozzi teachers Maggie Williams and Erika Lyla for a powerful 4-week online journey to cultivate your resilience — so you can reconnect to your purpose, get off the endless wheel of your to-do list and obligations… and reconnect to your values and vision.
In the first session, you’ll explore:
🌟The powerful truth that you become what you practice
🌟 The resilience-based approach to transformation and and how it can show up in your life
🌟 How your specific resilience experiences live in your soma
🌟 Powerful journaling exercises set to music
🌟 Guided practices featuring skills you’ll come to embody and access regularly over the next month (even under pressure) as your new way of thinking, relating, acting, and being
🌟 And more!
Erika and Maggie will guide you over these four weeks to work with your whole self — your actions, inactions, emotions, sensations — so you can transform, even under pressure, as you move toward your purpose. Click the link to register: https://ecs.page.link/88EJJ
You’re invited to join Maggie and Erika for Rediscovering Resilience, to access and cultivate your inner resilience — within the loving container of our supportive somatic community.
During this 4-week course, you’ll learn how, when we’re under this much individual and collective pressure, our old conditioning (which comes from your childhood to long-ago ancestral patterns) kicks in — undermining our ability to move forward and flourish...
In the face of today’s challenges, you’re (understandably) responding to events in a similar way — and stress and reactivity now feel like the “new normal.”
Yet, within you right now lies a profound sense of resilience — the innate capacity to bounce back and stay connected to yourself and those around you, even in times of isolation.

Imagine moving through the world emboldened by your inner resilience that you can call on at any time…
How would your life be different? We hope you’ll join us on a powerful new 4-week journey and find out...
You’ll learn to rely on your own sustainability, opening the doorway to remembering who you truly are and what’s most important to you...
You’ll refocus and reconnect with your purpose and aliveness.
Here’s what Maggie and Erika have planned for each week of this transformational course, beginning March 22:
🌟 Session 1: Resilience — What It Is and Isn’t
🌟 Session 2: The Art & Science of Resilience
🌟 Session 3: Making More Room for Resilience
🌟 Session 4: Resilience & Interdependence
Maggie and Erika will guide you to widen your circle of concern, and use these four weeks as an opportunity for purposeful transformation within yourself — in support of those around you, greater equity in the world, climate justice, and much more. “The resilience practices had an immediate impact — relief and joy — on my day-to-day experience of life.” — Karen G.
We love hearing from students like Karen who’ve said YES to the journey of somatics — and deepened their own healing, learning, and growth to access hope from a place of resilience.
You’re invited to bring this powerful healing work into your own life when you join Maggie Williams’ and Erika Lyla’s live online course, Rediscovering Resilience: From Reactivity to Skillful Action.
In the opening class session on March 22, Maggie and Erika will share how somatics can help you understand the ways you react under pressure — and help you become more connected to what you care about as you grow, align with your vision and values, and transform.

Please join us for a FREE online Community Dojo session Tuesday, March 8 at 8am PT. Strozzi Teacher Pete Hamill will lead us in "Opening for a Greater Choice."
Do we brace against the onslaught of the world? Have we stiffened with pride? Have we become brittle through the experience of life, or have we collapsed with shame? Whatever we have embodied gives us a set of predominant moods — it’s difficult to experience a lot of joy when collapsed with shame. Our moods shape what actions then seem possible — a mood of ambition generates different actions than a mood of resignation. These embodiments also give us an identity — others respond to how we show up and engage with us based on the resulting perceptions they have of us. The embodiment, and the moods and identity it produces, gives us a sense of what’s possible for us.

At Strozzi Institute, our goal is to empower individuals and the collective to recognize and move through conditioned tendencies and historical shaping that restrain growth and to identify and hold consciously chosen values front and center. We provide training and tools that utilize the body and somatic practices to support embodiment of life-giving visions and values to achieve transformation and true desires.
With 45 years of development and experience, we have fine-tuned a unique and powerful methodology that produces sustained change, reliably. Strozzi Somatics teaches the “how” in actualizing the best leadership and coaching ideas, theories, and intentions — not just for individuals, but for coaches, teams, and companies around the world.
Strozzi Institute’s methodologies empower transformational change through the body.
“We are what we practice. We are always practicing something. Is what you are practicing aligned with your visions?” -Richard Strozzi-Hecker
Observing what you practice is a good way to discover who you are.
How aligned are your actions with your personal and professional goals?
If you have the presence and the impact you desire, the quality of relationships you want and general wellbeing, it is as a result of the decisions you make and the actions you take.

In times of change or uncertainty, it’s natural to feel thrown off-center, anxious, or confused.
It is also possible to use this upheaval to engage in our own healing, learning, and growth.
Resilience is inherent in all people. It is our capacity to “bounce back”, to see possibilities, and to stay connected. Even during change or moving through the unknown, we can cultivate resilience.
What are the moments of joy already happening in your life? How can you get better at feeling with your whole system and really savoring those moments? Comment below! Click the link to learn more about using somatics in your life: https://ecs.page.link/okjTk
Please join us for a FREE online Community Dojo session Tuesday, February 8 at 8am PT. Strozzi Teacher Maggie Williams will lead us in "Working With Our Patterns to Unlock New Possibilities".
Many of us grapple with habits or ways of being that get in the way of what we long for, what matters to us, and who we truly want to be. Our struggle with these long-held patterns can keep us feeling stuck and frustrated. They are the roadblocks to our transformation. In this session, we’ll learn where these patterns — called Conditioned Tendencies — come from, how they’ve served us (truly), and how we are now over-using and over-relying on some of them. Instead of working against these long-held patterns, we’ll practice authentically befriending them — which is one of the key ways we heal and transform.

Do you feel you are moving closer to your true vision for yourself, your life, and your relationships?
Or, are you moving further out of alignment from what you really want?
How about in stressful times? Do you continue to embody your vision for the future, or — like most of us — fall back into your familiar default mode?
In times of stress, we often react with our old ways of coping or taking care of ourselves. These conditioned tendencies are a result of trauma, and, although they served us in the past, they push us further away from our true vision.
Your conditioned tendencies can block your vision and stifle your choices.
To move toward embodiment of your vision and start showing up completely differently in 6 months, you have to align your vision and declaration and begin the somatic transition towards embodying it.
To help you achieve this goal, we invite you to join us March 24-27 for 4 powerful days on our California ranch for our next Embodied Transformation with Strozzi Somatics training.
This intimate, in-person training will give you practices that you can apply right away toward becoming a centered presence that embodies authenticity, integrity, accountability, and confidence. Click the link in our bio to register now!
It’s easy to fall out of alignment with your true vision, especially when life gets busy.
True embodiment happens when your actions consistently reflect your values and your commitment, especially under pressure — whether at work, in your relationships, or simply in the face of day-to-day stressors. And, it takes practice.
You can transform your conditioning and default reactions, and build a foundation so strong that acting from your center is natural and ease-filled.
If you’re ready to craft that powerful foundation and take your embodiment to the next level, we invite you to join us March 24-27 on our ranch in Petaluma, California for our next Embodied Transformation with Strozzi Somatics training.
During these four interactive days, Strozzi teachers Dara Silverman and Tesfaye Tekelu will walk you through creating a declaration, or statement of vision, toward the future you want as you align your vision with your daily actions.
Each session will feature in-depth teaching with a small student-to-teacher ratio, guided movements, interactive training, and practices that you can apply right away.
Don’t wait — registration is open now! Click the link in our bio to reserve your spot today.

Strozzi Institute is the original architect of embodied leadership. Our methodology and programs have been fine-tuned over 45 years of development and they produce reliable, sustainable change. Our founder, Richard Strozzi, has been immersed in this work since 1971 and has written a number of seminal books on this applied methodology (The Art of Somatic Coaching, Holding Center, Leadership Dojo, In Search of the Warrior Spirit, etc.). He launched then first somatic coaching certification program in 2002.
Our lead teachers all have 8+ years of training in the methodology and facilitation, and expertise in at least one other discipline ranging across psychotherapy, social work, corporate management, somatics + trauma, anti-violence work, health education, ICF coaching certification, competitive athletics, and somatic psychology. Together they are serving clients such as Ascena Retail Group, Autodesk, Capital One, C Myers, Dropbox, Eagle Rock School, EnPro, Equity Office, Kaiser Permanente, and Lane Bryant.
Strozzi Institute is incorporated as a California Benefit Corporation that measures a triple bottom line: People + Planet + Profit. This is a reflection of our longstanding commitment to leadership that benefits people, the planet and viable businesses.
