www.mediajustice.org We believe the right to communicate belongs to everyone.
When we counter the surveillance used to repress our communities and movements, we win human rights. When we fight for media representation, we push back against hateful stereotypes and win better coverage of our communities and issues. When we oppose media consolidation, we stand up for the rights of workers whose jobs are being eliminated by corporate mergers, and for the rights of families forced to pay more just to stay connected.
🗓️ Registration Open | Join us June 25-27 at the 2024 Alliance for Community Media (ACM) Conference hosted by at Open San José in California.
The conference will bring together many community media practitioners to celebrate the work of community media organizations. Among the insightful workshops and technical presentations, our own Jai Dulani (aka Dulani), National Political Education Manager at MediaJustice, will be speaking on the following panel:
💻 “Media Literacy; Community Media Centers and Mis/Disinformation” which will focus on the increase and impact of mis- and dis-information over the last several years when it comes to elections, public health, and the wellbeing of our communities. In this panel we'll explore the question "How can we leverage this expertise and provide tools for the next level of media literacy, combating mis and dis-information?"
Dulani will be joined by:
🎙️Ellina M. Yin, CEO, Founder and Host of Only in San Jose ()
📚Nolan Higdon, Lecturer at and and author

Today, May 29, Meta is holding its AGM, an annual meeting for shareholders –– and an important time to get the company’s attention on pressing human rights issues.
In the face of Israel’s heinous attacks on Rafah and ongoing assault on Gaza, Meta hasn’t taken a single action to address its systematic censorship of Palestinians, its removal of content documenting Israel’s war crimes, and its failure to moderate Hebrew language content that fuels and exacerbates the violence Palestinians are facing on the ground.
Shareholders must know that Meta is continuing to blatantly violate and disrespect Palestinian human rights, and it’s time to hold the company accountable.
Join Palestinian rights defenders around the world in demanding: Meta, ! Sign and share the petition at fftf.link/meta.

I’m lucky to have been around in some capacity for the last 14yrs of MediaJustice. I’ve been a board member, a member of our network, a national organizer and now an ED. I’ve worked with and learned so much from our founding ED, Malkia Devich Cyril. I’m inspired by the leadership of the current generation of staff who are taking this org beyond the edges of my imagination.
Will you help us celebrate the last 14yrs by donating $14? Donate here: https://support.mediajustice.org/give/472681/ #!/donation/checkout
