MONDAY NIGHT PIANO BAR: Pianist Bryan Seet will be covering tonight's piano bar duties. The fun starts at 8pm!

Yesterday before dawn, a group of lost souls went through Oakland, burglarizing many small businesses, and we were on that list. They damaged every locked door in the building, jambs, hinges, took our new post pandemic shut down cash register, and dragged our entire ATM out the door pulling up the floor with it. Our team worked hard for the entire day, recovering from those damages, to assure these robbers wouldn’t steal an entire day from us too. The very same morning, Almond and Oak, Saigon Vietnamese, Chipotle, Radio, Calabash, and the Fat Lady were also hit from what we know. In the recent past, our friends at Pierre Pierre, A La Mar, Horn BBQ, and countless others were also targeted. We believe attacking these hardworking small businesses in this way is so intolerable and in response, we will continue to strive to be a part, with our neighbors, of a vibrant community too lively to be bashed down. To the robbers, who have to live with the fact that their materialistic gain is at the expense of other’s hard work, I hope you find the real help you need. To the police, who struggled to keep up with a barrage of robberies and destruction, we appreciate and encourage your efforts and hope whatever can be done will happen to make our community safer. And to our team and community thank you for your consistent love and support, and… let’s visit each other more!

ALLEY CAT NIGHT PIANO BAR UPDATE: Bryan will be covering Jef’s shift on piano this Monday evening from 8-12pm. (Jef is ok but under the weather).

SUNDAY PIANO BAR UPDATE: Bryan Seet will be covering for Jef on the 88s this Sunday evening from 6-9. Come on out and enjoy a song, a cocktail, and perhaps a steak dinner, which SF Gate called “one of the best steaks in the Bay Area”.

Our vintage clock decoration decided not to live on the banister for now. Thank goodness everyone survived! That said, daylight savings starts tomorrow and the Alley goes back to 6pm opening 7 days a week!! Here comes summer!

THURSDAY IS VINTAGE NIGHT @ THE ALLEY! 🎹🎉 Dust off your fedoras and flapper dresses because we're time-traveling to the good ol' days! Come out to hear or sing your favorite tunes from the Great American Songbook. Thursday nights are where we put aside (BAN) the contemporary books and play the songs that The Alley's longtime pianist, the late Rod Dibble, played for decades. The nostalgia starts at 8PM! 🕺💃

As an homage to The Alley’s historical roots and dedication to the memory of legendary Alley pianist Rod Dibble, who kept the Great American Songbook alive and well in the hearts and voices of so many, we’ll be encouraging Rod Dibble-type song requests from The Great American Songbook (roughly songs from 1920-1960) from 8-11pm on Thursdays’ open-mic piano bar. So bring your favorite Cole Porter or Harold Arlen tune and let’s party like it’s 1959!!!! 🎊🙌👍🏻🎂🥃🍺🍸🎹🎼🎤

BILLY JOEL TRIBUTE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT! Given that Billy Joel has recently released a new single for the first time in 30 years, The Alley would like to pay tribute to the Piano Man by having a night of Billy Joel music. So tomorrow - bring your favorite Billy Joel song and we'll try to play it (except "Piano Man" - Rod Dibble's rule stands). Piano Bar starts at 9PM this Saturday with Bryan Seet.
