Health Career Connection (HCC) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing undergraduate students with exposure, experience and mentoring to achieve a successful health career. HCC is the connection between students and the information, experiences and support they need to discover and make well-informed choices about healthcare and public health career options.

We are proud to partner with as they invest $800,000 to support health care internships for those from diverse and underserved communities. This investment will support a total of 96 summer internship positions for college students and recent graduates who are pursuing a career in health, and who have a desire to work in underserved communities. This partnership will expand and scale HCC’s pipeline program to recruit and prepare students from underrepresented and low-income backgrounds for health careers. Mr. Poole has 20+ years’ experience in healthcare administration and services. Before joining LifeLong, he served as the regional senior executive director for Core Healthcare, an operator of skilled nursing facilities throughout Northern California. Other previous roles include executive director/associate medical director for two skilled nursing facilities, San Pablo Healthcare & Wellness Center and Vale Healthcare Center. He has also practiced as a licensed Physician Assistant for Kaiser Permanente and in private practice.
Mr. Poole earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Public Administration in healthcare from California State University, Hayward (now CSU East Bay). He earned a Physician Assistant certification from the University of California, Davis and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
