Wildfires have turned our sky murky pink, hard to breath if you go outside w/one lung lame. I feel for the trees hanging low, their vibrant spring foliage suffocating by the cover of soot. Knowledge that the true culprit is my people’s pollution weighs heavy, we must commit to change- immediately.

As I watch the idiotboxin Westchester county NY, my hometown Phoenix, AZ Maricopa County is serving as the PBS litmus test for wacko voting pressures across the country- problems w/printers affecting tabulation keeping folks glued to the screen remind me of sitting on the floor of my Dad’s “Den” 25 years ago watching the drama of key races - Not a lot of differences in all those years of the system working save the horrific burden of justifying legitimacy of our democracy at work. THANK YOU to all who voted & keeping faith in our system!

This wild Kingfisher's grandparent, I found in the garden, nearly dead, some years ago. Nursed him back to health, and set him free. The next morning, the family swooped down, past me, in gratitude.
A couple of years later, I awoke to find the next generation, a parent of this bird, waiting for me on the terrace, his wing seemed broken. I picked him up and examined him. He never flinched, and stared deeply into my eyes. A thorn had locked his wing from operating. I pulled it out, and set him free. Without fail, he passes my window every day at the same time, crying out to me.
This baby, sat in the tree, eye to eye with me, then flew directly to my hand, and sat there for several minutes, before flying away.
Intuition, compassion, good intent, those essences of love, was all we had. Pure, unspoken.
An energy that has no end, and passes silently onward, much further than we can imagi.

Warriors basketball playoffs will be shown on the big screen at EBGB Wine Bar tonight and Friday (6:00 pm). Light snacks and your first glass of wine are on us.
