What’s in a (beer) name? Many of our names are pretty spur-of-the moment, whimsical creations. Others take a great deal of thought and contemplation. “Alpenglow” is our award-winning Hazy IPA and the name was years in the making and inspired by our founder’s many backpacking and climbing trips throughout California’s High Sierra. We are thrilled to introduce our new Kitchen Manager, Michael de Leon. Michael brings a vast and varied background to the kitchen, drawing from generations of chefs and restaurant owners. In his 30-year career, Michael has trained in Northern Italian and Southern French cuisines and boasts extensive experience in Thai, Japanese, Moroccan, and Filipino cuisines. He is known as a sautè chef and has an affinity for baking breads. Having checked so many culinary boxes, it seems only fitting that perhaps his greatest challenge now lies at his feet…California-fresh, gluten-free, pub fare that compliments our award-winning gluten-free craft beer! Last, but certainly not least, Michael is a decorated veteran of the US Army, having served with 2/75 rangers, 25th Inf Div, and XVIII Airborne Corps. MOS 96C primary, 11C secondary.
