In a historic year for conservation, President Biden secured protections for more than 12.5 million acres of public lands. Since he took office, the President has protected nearly 1.5 million acres as new national monuments at the behest of local communities and Tribal Nations, an area comparable to the size of Delaware.
Given the global climate crisis and widespread declines in biodiversity, President Biden’s continued commitment to conservation in the next year will be essential to solving these dual crises and keeping the U.S. on track to meet the goal.
Thank you President Joe Biden for leading the charge towards a safer, healthier, nature-positive future. 🌿👏 We're hopeful that the work doesn't end here and that your administration continues to act to deliver on the conservation ambitions of local communities! .
