Both father and son have offered their time to cover what they feels is needed for a team to know or have to help a young driver making the move from small cars, or a current Sportsman competitor wanting to improve. 11:30 – 12:30 PM (Room 1) DIRT MODIFIED 4 COIL, & LOADS – CHUCK SCHMICK Technical Sales Advisor Behrent’s Performance Warehouse: Suspension Expert Chuck Schmick of Mooresville, N.C., formerly with Eibach Springs, will present an informative seminar to get you updated with today’s ever changing Dirt Modified chassis set-ups. Hyperco and Behrents will be giving one person a set of four Hyperco coils that attend the seminar via a drawing.

12:00 – 1:00: KEN SCHRADER – ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE FANS (D-Hall Stage) – The NASCAR Cup series legend continues win races 52 years into his career on short tracks across the country. Schrader, who has raced in 48 different states be reliving some of his iconic and fun moments while discussing his new book, “Still Racing”. He’ll also be available for one-on-one questions from fans.

12:00 – 1:00 PM: 2023 BIG WINNERS: (D Hall) – Top northeast race winners in 2023 will be available to sign autographs.

12:00 – 2:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: LUCAS WOLFE (Old Milwaukee Booth – xx): Lucas Wolfe, the driver of the Old Milwaukee Beer No. 5w will on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photos next to his 410 Sprint Car.

12:45 – 1:45 PM (Room 1) SPRINT CAR HELP with JIM SHREINER: With over 25 years of experience working with some of the best Sprint Car drivers and teams in the country, veteran crew chief Jim Shreiner be hosting a one-hour seminar to offer advice to the Sprint Car beginner to racers competing at different levels up the ladder in the sport. A former Micro Sprint driving champion, Shreiner learned Sprint Car racing from some of the best crew chiefs in the business after his retirement behind the wheel. He then enjoyed success working with drivers such as Keith Kauffman, Doug Esh, Justin Henderson, Tyler Walker and most recently Dylan Cisney. Shreiner will discuss needed car and engine maintenance, chassis set-up, following a race track, needed discussion with the driver and much more. Bring your concerns and questions!

1:00 – 2:00 PM: BOB WEIKERT TRIBUTE: (D Hall Stage) – Bob’s son’s Todd and Ike will be joined on stage by many of the great drivers who drove the famous Bob Weikert No. 29 Sprint cars. Drivers already confirmed to be on hand include Weikert’s first driver Richard Lupo, Paul Pitzer, Greg Coverdale, Len Krautheim and Randy Wolfe.

1:00- 2:00 PM: (Room 2) TAKING PHOTOS AT THE TRACK– Hosted by award winning racing photographer BOB YURKO of Area Auto Racing News: For the “amateur” or the person looking to enter the business, this seminar provides “the basics” of racing photography.

2:00 – 3:00 PM: JIMMY SPENCER ONE-ON-ONE WITH THE FANS (D-Hall Stage) – Former NASCAR Cup and Xfinity winner, 1986 & 87 NASCAR Modified Tour champion and television broadcaster Jimmy Spencer will be on stage for what is expected to be a colorful hour of conversation. Mr. Excitement from Berwick, PA will tell tales of his career as a driver and offer his opinion of today’s racing both nationally and locally. It’s a must see.

2:00 – 3 PM: AUTOGRAPHS (Pioneer Pole Buildings Display – 104): CRAIG VON DOHREN, JIM BERNHEISEL, BRYAN BERNHEISEL, DAVEY SAMMONS, BRYCE BASHORE, KEVIN HIRTHER, BRIAN HIRTHER, JESSE HIRTHLER, KAYLA HIRTHER.

Big Wheels are supplied (no one can use their own); and there is no entry fee, or need to pre-enter. Just sign up at the show before 1 PM on Sunday.

3:00- 3:45 PM: (Press Room): Race Track/Tour & Series Media Workshop – Hosted by WAYNE HARPER, Lincoln (Pa.) Speedway press director. Open discussion between racing writers/photographers and track/series Promoters/Managers and Press Directors as to professionalism, credential usage and pre and post-event coverage. A featured topic will be “Today’s Racing Social Media”, with emphasis on how tracks/organizations are using Facebook, Twitter and related “social media” in publicizing their events; and “credential approval by tracks in the new era of social media.”

3:15 – 4:15 PM (Room 1) TIRE PREP – Jay Castimore, the long-time dirt Modified tire specialists for Brett Hearn and most recently Stewart Friesen, will address American Racer and Hoosier tire preparation and equipment to use for grooving, siping and needling. He’ll talk about where on the tire to do the work, which blocks, how deep and what direction. When to use it, when not… plus tire compound choice and watching an ever changing race track before making a decision. The discussion will also include tire maintenance and dicussions he has with his drivers. Bring your questions to the tire expert!

3:30 – 4:30 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: JIMMY SPENCER (Showcase Booth No. 111) – Stop by and meet the driver voted one of the top ten best NASCAR Modified drivers of all time. He’ll be available for photos and autographs. Spencer won the prestigious Race of Champions when held at Pocono Raceway and the Spring Sizzler at Stafford among other victories. He moved on to the Xfinity Series where he won 12 times before picking up two Cup series wins in 1994 at Daytona and Talladega. After his retirement, he was known for many years as a controversial and very opinionated television broadcaster known for his “Crying towel” segments.

4:30- 5:30 PM: (Room 1) NEW ENTRY LEVEL CLASS FOR CHILDREN – HYPER RACING will be hosting an informative seminar regarding Junior Sprints, a new entry level division for children that is being introduced this season to the northeast. The Junior Sprint class originated in the Midwest around 2004 as a driver development class and is designed for drivers 5 (or 6 depending on track) to 12 years old. The class was born with the idea to create a class where the 600cc Sprint drivers would have a place for their children or younger siblings to race at the same track on the same nights.

Opening Day Of 2024 PPB Motorsports Show Draws Big Crowd; Megan Williams Crowned Ms. Motorsports 2024

Oaks, PA (Jan. 19) – Thousands of enthused racers and fans interacted with hundreds of exhibitors from across the spectrum of motorsports on Friday, opening day of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Race Car & Trade Show inside the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

Megan Williams, 25, of New Tripoli, PA was crowned Aqua Duck Water Transport Ms. Motorsports 2024, winning the prestigious crown over 15 other contestants. Lindsay Garl, Ms. Motorsports 2023, crowned her successor. Alex Brown was named first runner-up, and Haylie Hammond was second runner-up. Ms. Hammond (Swimwear), Becky York (Sportswear), Mallory Kutz (Ms. Congeniality), and Christina Contento (Interview) were also special award recipients.

NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader was “in the house” Friday to sign autographs, meet and greet fans, and sign copies of his new book ‘Still Racing’, his second autobiography which relates Schrader’s life and times from his last 20 years in the sport.

“Joyce Standridge, who wrote the first book, reminded me that I had raced for close to 20 years since the first one came out. So we did another one, kind of like just picking up where we had left off,” Schrader said. Books were selling well Friday at the Show.

The ‘Remembering Bob Weikert Tribute’ proved to be a popular attraction for the region’s 410 Sprint Car fans. Three of Weikert’s vintage No. 29 Sprint cars were on display and several prominent Weikert drivers were on hand during the day. Among them were Randy Wolfe and Von McGee, as well as Todd and Ike Weikert, Bob Weikert’s two sons and Steve O’Neal, Port Royal Speedway promoter. Paul Szmal and Eric Zembower emceed a lively Roundtable event.

“Remembering Dad today at the Motorsports Show was quite a moving experience,” Todd Weikert shared. “He was a good man, a passionate race car owner, and a good father and we are proud to continue to honor his legacy in racing.”

Dale and Brandon Planck conducted a well-attended seminar in which the merits of their DIG Shocks was discussed and questions answered.

The Haas Formula 1 car drew great attention from show attendees Friday. It was just the second time a Formula 1 car, which is a surprising 18 feet in length, has been displayed at a Motorsports Show.

Day Two of the 2024 PPB Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. NASCAR Cup great Schrader will return and will be joined by fellow NASCAR legend Jimmy Spencer to meet and greet fans. In addition, the Pioneer Pole Buildings ‘family of drivers’, headed by Craig VonDohren, Freddie Rahmer, and Billy Pauch, Jr., will congregate in the PPB Booth to sign autographs.

At 2:45 p.m., Freddie Rahmer, Matt Hirschman, and Steven Snyder, Jr., the winningest Sprint, Asphalt Modified, and Micro Sprint drivers will sign autographs for fans and pose for pictures on the D-Hall Stage.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19th – SHOW HOURS 2 TO 9 PM

4:00 – 6:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: LUCAS WOLFE (Old Milwaukee Booth 804): Lucas Wolfe, the driver of the Old Milwaukee Beer No. 5w will on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photos next to his 410 Sprint Car.

4:30 – 5:30 PM SHOCK SENSE – DALE and BRANDON PLANCK of DIG SHOCKS have quickly combined a proven product with race winning knowledge to a growing list of customers in Dirt Modified and Sportsman competition. During a one-hour seminar they will offer understanding advice on how to improve handling through shock and suspension changes, what communicate is needed to adjust to an ever changing dirt track and much more. After retiring as a winning driver and champion, Dale Planck has coached many young drivers and teams to victory lane. His son Brandon Planck is a mechanical engineer with not only a great knowedge, but knowledge of shocks few unders. Bring your notebook, have your questions ready.

5:00 – 7:00 PM: KEN SCHRADER AUTOGRAPHS/ BOOK SIGNING: (Showcase 111) – The NASCAR Cup series and short track racing legend will be greeting fans and signing autographs. His new book, “Still Racing” by Ken Schrader, will be available for sale and he’ll personally sign the book as well.

5:30 – 6:00 PM: AUTOGRAPHS: (D Hall Tribute Area) – Members of the on-stage Bob Weikert round table discussion will sign special autograph cards prior to the event. List of drivers already scheduled to participate include Paul Pitzer, Len Kruatheim, Randy Wolfe, Lance Dewease and Richard Lupo. Several of the famous No. 29 Sprint Cars raced over the years are expected to be on display during the entire show.

6:30 – 7:30 PM: REMEMBERING BOB WEIKERT: (D Hall Stage) – A Roundtable fun discussion of the life and times of car owner Bob Weikert through the years withseveral of his noted drivers that were hired and often fired by the out spoke and very successful Sprint Car owner who dabbled in the Modifieds. List of drivers to participate include Paul Pitzer, Len Kruatheim, Randy Wolfe, Lance Dewease, Greg Coverdale and Richard Lupo plus Port Royal Speedway promoter Steve O’Neal along with Todd and Ike Weikert

8:00 PM: MS. MOTORSPORTS COMPETITION sponsored by Aqua-Duck Water Transport (D Hall Stage)

9:00 – 12:00 PM: OLD MILWAUKEE BEER POST-EVENT PARTY (D Hall Stage) Live music with the band “Blind Lemmon Pie” will begin as soon as the Ms. Motorsports pagent has been completed with Old Milwaukee bucket of beer specials, a complete bar and food available in this area.
