Domingo 🐾
5 y/o Rottweiler X

OHAR- Open Hands Animal Rescue is now looking for a foster to adopt home for Domingo. He is safe with a short term foster.

This dog has been saved from the Euthanasia list in Hillsborough county TWICE now!
He deserves a chance at a good life.
**Due to past history they are seeking a foster home with no children under 16, and no other pets- as we can’t fail this dog for a third time.

Domingo is what we call “ a volunteer favorite” at MCAS and was a pack walk dog until our animal services transferred him out to HCAS this past Saturday on “trade” for a dog from here that was found down there… I’m sure a lot of you witnessed that play out- enough hell was raised to get Domingo back to Marion County where he is now safe with OHAR (waiting on his arrival this morning).
Now that he’s on his way back we need to get him into a committed stable home to start flourishing, as he’s been stuck at MCAS in a kennel for 7 months up to this transfer, and that does impact a dogs morale and demeanor.

If you have capability to commit to 3/4 weeks that gives them a great start- if you’re interested but don’t know if you’re a good fit, reach out!
Please share Domingo far and wide to find him his forever home!
If you know someone who fits the stable foster profile they are looking for please, send them this!

Tequila is in pre-adoptive state!
She is microchipped and ready for her new family Christmas Morning 🥰

The girls at the Humane Society Clinic were so happy to see her, all 16 pounds of her!!
This little girl has gained over 10 pounds in 4 weeks! We are so thankful she is in good health today, as well as being the happiest little puppy ever. ❤️

We have closed and re-opened intake 3 times now since the beginning of October, for found-by-themselves kittens.
Yesterday it happened again.
Meet our newest girl, Fern.

Fern was spotted in a Belleview Nieghborhood hiding in some boxes set out in the burn pile. Our friend Kathryn contacted me in hopes we had a trap and space. We had a trap, but no space. She again volunteered space and time until we can free up some space for her here.
We are at 10 kittens/ cats in our home sanctuary. Please consider browsing some or messaging us for the available kittens. *if you’ve inquired already we are getting back to you all in order

Fern will be socialized and vetted soon, and ready for a new home shortly after.
If anyone is interested in this sweet baby please message our page as we are having difficulties with our current adoption application link and trying to sort that out still! In the meantime contact us so we can get in touch once we resolve the technical difficulties.

If anyone would like to sponsor Ferns vetting it will be 73$ total for her spay and vaccines, and one month of prevention.

These kids need adopters!
Kittens are 5 weeks old and can go into homes next week after their Spay/Nueter and Vaccines.
Our kitten adoption donation is currently 75$ (subject to change)

Tequila or “Keeley” is at prime puppy age of 12 weeks old today and still looking for her forever family still! She is a pit/boxer mix OR a pit/black mouth curr mix (we don’t know). She will be end up around 55-80 pounds, and is a large breed dog.
Her adoption donation is currently 175$ and subject to change while vaccines and other appointments are done in our care.
Once Tequila is adopted we will have space for an amputee medical puppy from MCAS who desperately needs a stable quarantine on behalf of Quality of Life Rehab & Foster!

The big kids got a clearance ham cooked just for them! They’ve been enjoying their platters today and sharing nicely…. Except Truffles. Truffles was quickly removed and given her own plate 😅😂 Even Bridgette eats more civilized then her bestie 🥰

5 feral cat children. They are about 5 weeks old and not yet old enough for TNR.... but probably old enough for taming and placement in adoptive home. We will be TNR'ing mom and we are hoping to find a rescue to take the kids... even if its to hold for eventual TNR.

The caretaker is an 81 year old sweetheart... she lives in OPE and needs help with this. She would be open to the kittens returning after TNR as well, but they need to 2 more months of growth before they can make weight.

Check me-owwwt!
Hi! I’m Truffles! I’m back up for adoption at no fault of my own!
Our director needed to keep me in her custody for a couple extra weeks to socialize a new feral kitten who is the same age as me, many of you know her as Bridgette or B. During those weeks something in my adopters home changed drastically, and they are no longer in a place to give me the love and attention I require as a medium haired, high maintence Manx kitten but that’s okay, I’m sure someone wants to take me home with them and love me and pet me 24/7.
I use the litter box with no issues and I eat hard kitten kibble now, although I like to act like I’ve never eaten before when I smell wet food. I’m a FEMALE Manx Blue Tabby kitten who is approximately 10 weeks old. I’m just a baby still, and I have a weird obsession with feet so if you’re not careful you can easily crush me, or I may trip you and make you fall. I also like to try to run outside through open doors, as I came from outside but I am way too small to be out there, it’s just not safe. I’m very vocal and will request my needs from you. I’m a very cuddly girl and love soft blankets and stuffies, along with other friendly cats. I love to play with my toys and run through the cat tunnels here!
If you would like to meet Truffles please message our page for an adoption application.

Look at this precious snoozing baby.
Accepting adoption applications for her now.
Believed to be a pit mix/ boxer mix, expected to be about 55 pounds full grown.
She’s had a rough start, which set her back quite a bit in body mass- but she holds no grudges with humans and loves to be next to ANYONE. She has a re-check in 2 weeks where she will receive her boosters, and see how much weight she’s gained.

Photos from Central Floridas Home for Forgotten Pets 's post 11/04/2023

Bridgette has become VERY close friends with Truffles, basically using her as an emotional support kitten and learning from her how to be a house cat. You can see she doesn’t want us to move “her kitten” with those eyes- if looks could kill 😂
She is tolerating pets during feedings from all members of our home sanctuary, and accepting pets from our director and her daughter without food, even though she is still terrified of human hands. We have high hopes for this little ones future and will be begin screening kitten adoption forms again. If she interests you please message our page for a kitten adoption application.

We will be holding a drive thru SHOT clinic on Saturday December 9th. Our clinic gates will open at 8am and close at 12 noon. Come out and see Dr Floyd and our staff to get up to date 🐾

11/03/2023

Our director Rose Amodeo will be attending the November 7th county meeting in regards to the new shelter and our current stray animal epidemic.
Our community is out of time to find a solution and we are on the edge of our seats with the county in regards to this topic.
If anyone has anything they would like to make sure gets said please feel free to express your concerns here. Open discussion welcome.
