“I breathe therefore I am”
The breath regulates everything in the body meaning our chemistry which in turn regulates all processes in the brain. We want to focus on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) our stress responds, the Immune System (IS) our defends system against pathogens, our Vascular System (VS) the heart and blood vessels, the Endocrine System (ES) our hormones and our Digestive System (DS) and last but not least the Respiratory System (RS) our lungs and the Lymph System (LS) our detoxification pathways and there is so much more... This just goes to show how important it may be, to become more aware of the way we breathe and to develop an intimate relationship with our breath and our body.

This is a vast subject. We will unravel the mystery and awe-some power of breathing step by step and practice together as we learn.
For our purpose, we will focus on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) our stress responds or how long till you loose your sense of humor?... one breath goes a long way!
The Endocrine System specifically hormones and related substances that have to do with the Pleasure / Pain Axis in the brain (dopamine and “comfort zone behavior”) and we’ll talk about those involved in the Circadian rhythm, day and night cycle. We can learn to tap into the flow of our Inner Clock and stop working against our bodies, instead work with them.

This class is meant to give you a glimpse into some of the possibilities and learn about the all pervasive effects, your breath has on every single cell in your body, your emotions and thoughts in every moment of your life, when you’re awake and even when you are sleeping.
I hope to raise your interest and curiosity about the seemingly simple act of breathing, our main source of energy (!) Breath awareness is the first step on the path to Yoga and to peace in general.

Prana, Chakras, Marmas & Koshas

“There’s more to you than meets the eye”

The subtle energies in our body are the bases for our physical body and the link between the mental / emotional body and the physical one.
This subtle lifeforce is called Prana in Sanskrit, Chi in chinese medicine and Ki in the Japanese esoteric practices.

This lifeforce flows through everything and animates everything. It is the foundation for all other energy systems in our bodies and it connects the Koshas the physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual
aspects of our being.
The Chakras are energy centers in spine which have specific and powerful effects on all Koshas aka levels of our body and are used by Yogis for Millennia to heal all levels of their being. Chakra Meditations and visualizations are powerful tools to re-educate your nervous system and bring balance to all aspects of your body and mind.

As we practice together, we will learn to fine-tune our perception and gain a deeper insight into what and who we are and how we can actually connect to the flow of life internally as well as in our external environment to live with more ease and less stress. “Going with the flow” is actually a thing and flow potentially leads to glow!

THE PRACTICE AND HEALING POWER OF ASANA AKA YOGA POSTURES:

We will explore the infinite ways in which Yoga movement brings ease, joy, healing and strength for your body, mind and soul. Asana practice is an act of meeting ourselves with curiosity, compassion and respect over and over again to develop a deeper physical and energetic awareness and relationship with all parts of our Selfs, in order to transform limitations and find freedom and gratitude and a sense of being at home in your own body.

MEDITATION TO THE RESCUE

We will practice a variety of Meditation techniques throughout our three week course for you to find the perfect one for your practice. You will learn about the vast benefits of meditation as a tool and selfcare practice to stay balanced especially in this fast-paced modern day and age. This is another very vast subject and will be woven into the fabric of our 21 day Yoga journey together.

HOW DOES YOGA RELATE TO AYURVEDA, THE SCIENCE OF LIFE?
Yoga & Ayurveda contain the original manual of modern “bio-hacks” to live a long, healthy and full-filled life! Introduction to the base principles of Ayurveda and practical applications for your daily lifestyle.
We ill explore the relationship of these two sister sciences Yoga and Ayurveda. You will learn about simple routines and daily acts of Self-Care, that can serve to enhance your wellbeing, productivity, energy levels, peace of mind and help to cultivate a re-newed relationship with your body and your mental / emotional tendencies and foster your sense of humor!

Everything is possible when we can identify and go with flow of the natural tendencies of our body / mind constitution aka our Prakriti (your body/mind blueprint) and find ways to balance the five elements within us aka the 3 Doshas - Vata, Pitta, Kapha.

LOGISTICS & CLASS SCHEDULE & BONUS OFFERS

Classes start Tuesday March 1st at 5pm and continue on Mondays (3/7 3/14 3/21) and Thursdays (3/3 3/10 3/17) evening from 5-6.30pm.

Every week we will dive into different topics and aspects of the teachings and each week progressively builds on the previous one, so the information will naturally become integrated into your body of knowledge and your practice.

In addition there are 3 classes offered Saturday (3/5 3/12 3/19) mornings 9-10.30am, where we will practice on the mat together, incorporating what we have learned in our Monday and Thursday night classes.

All classes are live streamed and interactive, with practice parts and discussion and Q&A at the end. If you can’t attend a class at the designated time, you can watch a replay at your own convenience.
PS: The Q & A part will not be recorded in order to keep any personal questions private 😉

We see things, but we know they are not real. They are like images in a dream upon awakening. P**f, they are not really there! Things are not substantial or solid. When the Buddha taught emptiness, he started by explaining the two truths: ultimate truth where intrinsic things do not exist at all; and conventional truth where things exist, but only relatively. The deeper our understanding and experience of emptiness, the more conventional reality appears like an illusion. Happy Saga Dawa, Buddha’s enlightenment, birth, and passing into parinirvana. Emaho!

Whenever a negative thought or emotion arises, remember the one who experiences these does not exist. Use the logic in the last post for conviction. HH Dalai lama explained this clearly in a short 8-min. video on dalailama.com -- /videos/emptiness-and-compassion-as-antidotes-to-destructive-emotions. It is worth watching many times to gain deeper understanding of reality. He mentions two wings of a bird flying through space to enlightenment are conventional and ultimate truth. When exchanging our selfish attitude for the attitude concerned with the wellbeing of others, i.e. Bodhicitta, negative karma is purified and positive karma is accumulated. Emaho!
