The bereavement process is different for every person, so it's important to offer memorial opportunities to the community. A key component of hospice care is comfort π«Ά Hospice Nurses are often referred to as "hospice angels" because of the peace they bring into a patient's final journey. π Bristol Hospice, embracing a reverence for life.
In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae
"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."
"My wife Elizabeth is very satisfied with the service you gave her, thank you very much." ~ Merced, CA

π This is a beautiful Google review left by a family in Florida π
"Our Bristol Hospice Experience as my beautiful Mother lived her last days on earth was Stellar. My Mother's Nurse prepared us in detail for what to expect. My Mother's Nurse treated my Mother with medical attention, dignity, admiration, advice, laughter, encouragement, answers, respect and love. The bond between them was very beautiful. Bristol Hospice provided medications, nebulizer, hospital bed and table, Oxygen, bed side commode, diapers, wipes, bed pads, personal care needs, the list could go on. Bristol Hospice provided wound care, counseling, clergy visits, weekly nurse visits, and was on call 24-7 for potential emergencies. Watching your loved one approaching death is very difficult. I do not know how we would have managed without Bristol Hospice being there for us every step of the way. Bristol Hospice is the Gold Standard in Hospice Care.β

We make so many decisions that impact the trajectory of our lives - where we will live, work, and who we will marry. Another set of decisions that are equally as important are Advanced Care Planning decisions. Yesterday was National Healthcare Decision Day, a day set aside to educate and empower the public regarding advanced care planning.
π«Ά Maybe it's time to think about the things that you haven't decided on yet.
