🦅 OC Fact: On Sept. of 1950 Central Christian College opened in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, with around 90 students and faculty. The college attracted talented individuals who believed in its potential, laying a strong foundation for future growth.

TONIGHT, OC's annual faculty/staff variety show, Bob Lashley's First Week Follies, will take place at 7:00 PM in Baugh Auditorium. Admission is free! Please join us!

This 46th-annual show will feature a special tribute to Bob, whom we lost to cancer earlier this year. We'll also have some classic throwbacks as part of OC's 75th anniversary and fun new material showcasing talented faculty, staff and alumni.

🦅 Business Bootcamp 2024 recap!
What a fantastic week visiting local businesses, meeting inspiring executives and soaking up the excitement of the OC journey ahead. We're thrilled to welcome our new Business Eagles to campus! 💼✨

KC Williams ('91) has taught and coached for 33 years. Currently teaching at Edmond Santa Fe High School, he started a project to see where his many students from over the years have ended up, and the response was astounding!

When decorating his classroom this year, Williams wanted to highlight the accomplishments of his former students. He took to Facebook, hoping to create a wall of fame, and the response was overwhelming—nearly 300 comments and counting!

Each comment shares a former student's journey since leaving Mr. Williams' classroom. He plans to add as many stories to his bulletin board as possible for his current students to see.

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved friend and colleague, Dr. Larry Jurney, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024. Dr. Jurney dedicated his life to Christian higher education and faithfully served the Lord, his family and the church. Since beginning his OC journey in 1985, Dr. Jurney has been a transformational teacher, a gifted academic leader and a guiding light as a professor, dean and chair of the Communications department. His rich legacy has blessed countless students and colleagues.

Shannon (Murrell '87) Smith wrote her first cookbook titled "The Hidden Table." Smith has traveled to over 50 countries, where she often cooks in the kitchens of local chefs and home cooks, learning about the ingredients, recipes and stories that shape their lives. For over 20 years, Smith has taught cooking classes and hosted dinner events in her Tulsa home with themed menus based on different locales from her travels.

Shannon is passionate about doing good and uses her travels to teach impoverished women to cook while helping to finance their businesses using micro-loan programs. Her charity work has taken her to the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Rwanda, where she helps locals striving to improve their businesses and provide for their families. Smith's new book was featured on July 30th at Common Place Books in Oklahoma City. Several other OC alumni came to support Shannon that evening.
