Join us Sept. 17 for the 2024 Martha Jean Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series featuring Dina Gilio-Whitaker, an Indigenous award-winning author and renowned scholar.

She will give a presentation surrounding her environmental work and her book “As Long As Grass Grows: The Indigenous Fight for Environmental Justice from Colonization to Standing Rock," beginning 7 p.m. in the Petree Recital Hall.

This event is free and open to the public.

OCU's next art gallery exhibit will feature a community bank’s collection of works by Oklahoma artists.

“Highlights from the Collection of NBC Oklahoma,” which includes selections from the bank’s Oklahoma Artist Series, will be on exhibit in OCU’s Nona Jean Hulsey Art Gallery beginning Sept. 22.

OCU's next Let’s Talk About It book discussion series will focus on how African Americans have worked to overcome obstacles like racism and marginalization in society on a quest for equal treatment.

The series opens at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 with “A Matter of Black and White: The Autobiography of Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher,” presented by American women’s history specialist Sunu Kodumthara.
