Not only is this bar beautiful, but it smells wonderful, too! It is a fruity, summery smell.

Today we share our tortoise, Ted.
We purchased Ted in September (see picture) and we cannot believe how much he has grown (see picture from August!). Ted is a Sulcata Tortoise. Sulcata Tortoises can live to be 70+ years old and get to be between 25 and 30 inches long. They can tip the scales at more than 100 pounds.

During the day, Ted roams out in the goat pasture. He munches on some grass and then finds a place to rest/hide. He does have favorite spots to do this in each pasture. This is helpful because if he is not in his special spot, it is like playing hide-and-seek!

We can’t wait to watch Ted continue to grow!

Yesterday, I showed one type of Justin’s chickens. Today, I show a super fun one! We just recently purchased these chickens - we had never heard of them before. We were at an auction and kept hearing a funny sound and we weren’t sure what it was. Come to find out, it was a laughing chicken! We had to grab some little ones.

Ours are still too young to crow and laugh, but we can’t wait until they get bigger! We hope that out of our three we have 1 rooster and 2 hens, but chickens are hard to tell gender when they are young.

We’ve gotten through all of our goats and now we will move on to some of the other animals on our farm. Starting with my husband’s chickens!

First, these are his Ayam Cemani chickens. We have 6 of them. We bought them as chicks and we are thinking we have 2 roosters and 4 hens. He can’t wait to hatch some chicks!

Ayam Cemani chickens are a rare breed of chicken from Indonesia. They are known for their black feathers, beaks, combs, tongues, toes, and bones.

We had a wonderful weekend at our vendor show this weekend. This is what I have remaining for soap and lotion from the weekend. I have been making a lot of new soap that I can’t wait to share when it is cured!!

Our next buck is GardenViewFarm Cass Renegade. He is a beautiful buck that I clearly do not take enough pictures of!

First up, Udderly Topnotch KT Spazz. We call him Spazzie Boy.

He is our sweet, gentle natured buck that wants all the loving. Unfortunately, he smells quite often! Haha. If you know how male goats smell then you just know!
He has produced some beautiful babies for us the last 2 kidding seasons!

Today we introduced River Road Ranch Hope’s Finale (when I finally register her). She goes by Angelina in the barn. She is the doeling that we are keeping this year.

She was our bottle baby and loves every bit of attention. Unfortunately, we lost her mom 2 days after she was born - it was a difficult birth. We are very fortunate to have Angelina here with us and she is growing to be a beautiful girl!

Next up is River Road Ranch Bella Rose, but we call her Bella. She is the daughter of Belly and is almost a year and a half old. She is a peanut and is now starting to mature in size.

She is our 1 goat that is a bit more timid. We try to give her all the extra loving we can to get her to see that we aren’t so bad. She does love animal crackers and will be your best friend if you have some to feed her!

They are all set up at the Rusty Rooster! Go visit them! 🧼🧴

I’ll be home on the tractor all day raking 2nd crop. 🚜

Our next girl is River Road Ranch Chevy Levy, but we call her Chevy. She is the daughter of Levian and is almost a year and a half old.

As shown in the photos, she really loves attention! Her personality really started to show this year as she was timid when she was younger. Now she loves to greet everyone!

Come visit us tomorrow at the Maker's Market in Portville! This will be held at the Rusty Rooster.

Next up we have GARDENVIEWFARM LT WILD ONES, also known as Sia!

Sia is two years old. She is a beautiful girl with her beautiful black coloring that is splashed with moonspots! She is as sweet as they come and just loves attention. She will follow me all around the paddocks!

Vinny is next! He is our well known goat as he was last year’s bottle baby and visited school with me one day! Being a bottle baby means he is also an attention hog. He will definitely be the first one to greet you if you stop to visit the goats.

Vinny is just over a year old. He is a wether so he is not able to breed. Vinny was one of 5 babies! He didn’t do well in his first few days so we had to bottle feed him. He sure is thriving in life now!

Next we have Udderly Topnotch A Belly. She is known as Belly. She is a 3 year old Nigerian Dwarf goat.

Belly loves attention. If you come to visit the goats, she will be the one that is using your leg as a scratching post! She loves to rub her head on people’s legs. She is another one of my favorite goats to milk and she is a fabulous milker - she milks about 6 pounds a day in her prime milking days as a second freshener.

First up, our oldest goat!
Meet Udderly Topnotch Biced Levian. She is also known as Levian or Lev. She is a 6 year old Nigerian Dwarf goat.

Levian is a sweetheart, unless you are a dog! 😂
She loves attention. She is my favorite to milk and a great milk producer. Levian also always gets the question - when is she due?! She may always look pregnant, but that is just her body at this point! You will find her ready to kid around March typically.

We spent the day yesterday putting the first coat of stain on the barn.

I chose Vanilla Fir as my favorite soap scent and Southern Peach as my favorite lotion scent.

As the maker of the soaps, I love making them look fancy! The fun designs are like arts and crafts and that is fun to me!

As for the lotion, I love how it feels when you put it on. It does not make you feel greasy like other soaps I have tried in the past. It is smooth and makes your skin feel so nice!

Justin chose the Pine Tar as his favorite. His actual favorite is the Apple Bourbon - which I loved too, but I don’t currently have any in stock. This is on my ‘to make’ list!

Justin also has been my tester for my goat milk shampoo bar. He loved it and said his hair felt great. It was smooth and shiny!
