Technique Tuesday.
Starting today I’ll feature different techniques and manual therapies and approaches to care. Today I will outline some of what I do. Tomorrow we will talk about Why!
Techniques employed:
- Motion Palpation… joint assessment
-Manipulation… based off the palpations above
-Soft tissue assessment and palpation
- Myofascial and muscle release based off the findings above
-DNS rehab
-Dry Needle
-Cold laser

All of which are therapeutic!

I’m back in the office this week! It was a great opportunity to be a part of the AAU Scholastic Duals in Florida but it always good to be back here… where I belong. The Nebraska Marvels finished 8th and Jordyn was an All-American with her 7-3 record. Thank you to everyone who followed her.

I will be gone this upcoming Friday the 20th. I’ll be helping with my daughter’s Nebraska girls wrestling team in Florida. I’ll be back Monday.

Wednesday: normal schedule.
Thursday: regular off day.
Friday: regular schedule, 6 AM Dash 12 PM.

Congratulations to Nick Hamilton and Garrett Grice winning their first ever college tournaments today! Nick won 165 pounds and Garrett won 133 pounds!

Meet Jonah. Jonah’s dad is a patient here and is an amazing Dad, person, and friend. I am an assistant coach for our 6th grade Gretna Black football team. Through conversation, I found out Jonah had become a Gretna youth football fan.

Jonah is 7, is amazing, has a huge heart, has cerebral palsy, and is kind and loving.

He and his parents would drive in from Papillion just to watch 2-4 random gretna youth teams play football on Sunday.

Well… knowing that I invited Jonah to join our team on Sunday and be an honorary captain. He was also my co-defensive coordinator for the game. We won 30-0 and it was bc of J’s defensive calls… I’m losing my job.

Every week we ( Gretna black coaches) select a Dawg of the Week.
This player is one who displays toughness, fight, character, and is willing to do the hard things we ask. Jonah also won that award.

He came in this morning wearing the shirt we give out to those selected.

I have to say that I was proud of our team for making him feel like “one of the boys”.
Sports and being able to play a game is an honor and a privilege. But you’re doing it for something bigger than yourself. Jonah gave us perspective, humility, grace and understanding of what that bigger thing is.

We are all better for having had Jonah on our sidelines yesterday.

Most of you know I fully support the Yutan-Mead Patriots team. 3 big reasons why:
1) Brooke Campbell, assistant coach.
2) Shaylynn Campbell, starting pitcher.
3) Jordyn Campbell, starting at 3rd.

I’ll be jetting out asap Friday for their 1230 district final games and hopefully be gone next Wednesday - Friday for state softball in Hastings.

Mindset Monday.

Most times, it just gets down to common sense.

A long time patient of mine text me last night to let me know his wife lost her battle against cancer and about the celebration of life they were having. Judy was a kind and caring person that always thought of other people 1st. The physical world lost a tough, persistent, caring wife, mother and friend but Heaven gained an angel. Rest well Judy J. and thank you for blessing us with kindness.

First of all, thank you for all your understanding for the crazy summer schedule. Secondly, next Friday, July 15th, I’ll be out of the office. Also the week of August 1st, I’ll be out from late Tuesday morning ( August 2nd … earlier morning appointments will be available) through August 8th. I’ll be back to normal hours on August 9th.
