We're back! Michele, our Senior Lighting Project Manager, is celebrating 8 years at Heartland this month! Michele is amazing at handling lots of moving parts within multiple jobs as a Senior Project Manager. Outside of work, she has dedicated 13 years to River City Mixed Chorus as the Technical Director, Lighting Director, as well as a performing member. She says, "In my rare spare time I enjoy traveling, kayaking and walking with my girlfriend, sound healing and searching for the next greatest IPA." Michele's favorite thing about Heartland is that it's another family for her. Awwww, we couldn't agree more, and Michele is definitely the way cool aunt of this family!

July was a busy month here at Heartland and it's actually our busiest month for celebrating work anniversaries. Other's that celebrated last month include:

Today we're celebrating Adam! Adam has been here for a whopping 19 years. He is a Fabrication Project Manager and darn good at it. Working at Heartland provides him with a wide variety of projects to work on and gives him an opportunity to travel the country and visit various museums. Adam states, "One month I'll be working on an interactive that demonstrates how much food a dinosaur eats in a day, the next month I'm working on a lifelike model of elephant poo."

We're all really just adult-sized kids with deadlines here.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time in his woodshop and working on his yard and pollinator garden. His puppy Ahsoka prefers to be by his side at all times and they enjoy the occasional Omaha Dog Bar date!

Almost 20 years of commitment is no joke. We are unbelievably lucky to have you, Adam.

Holden is celebrating his third year at Heartland! He is a Rigging Project Manager and he enjoys turning empty rooms into beautiful theaters with intricate fly systems.

On the weekends, Holden can be found kayaking, bird watching, or supporting our local theater scene.

We are grateful for all the hard work, Holden!

This week we're celebrating our Senior Rigging Sales Manager, Jeff Lindquist. Jeff has been at Heartland for 6 years. He enjoys the daily challenges he's faced with here at Heartland, especially when working with old and historic theaters. When asked how he would describe his job to a child he said, "I make things go up and down in theaters. If you can see what I do, I did a bad job."

When Jeff is not at work, he can be found working on his house or at a classic car show. His wife and their 1 year old daughter, Elena, keep him smiling along with their 2 dogs, Junior and Ginny.

"Orcas are my favorite animal. They do a killer whale impression!"

Way to end strong with a dad joke, Jeff!! We're so glad you're on our team.

Moving forward and looking back.

Steve Wheeldon and Scott Hoyt have made the transition into retirement after building a company of value and tradition to the many clients Heartland Scenic Studio has served over the last 39 years.

You’ll recognize some very familiar faces as part of Heartland Scenic Studios’ new ownership team. Bryan McAdams, Jerry Onik and Jonas Pultinevicius will continue to build on the legacy of success by continuing to provide design and fabrication of permanent/touring museum exhibits, commercial displays, custom store fixtures and theatrical scenery nationwide. We will continue to be the Midwest's leading distributor of theatrical equipment and supplies; offering consultation and installation services for theatrical/architectural dimming and control systems and rigging/curtains and tracks for theaters, multi-use facilities, arenas, museums, churches, schools, television studios and retail and commercial office space.

A major Shark-themed exhibition is coming to the American Museum of Natural History Dozens of life-size shark models will take over the museum this winter.

Congratulations to Mississippi Children's Museum - Meridian on today's ribbon cutting and their upcoming grand opening this weekend. Their brand new facility is so wonderful and such a huge achievement. We're so excited for you!

So exciting to have the opportunity to work on such a monumental new space. We can’t wait to see it all come together!
