Two years ago this month, Covid lurking over the sports world the brought all conference teams to Omaha for a three week run to protect the athletes and provide some semblance of a season.

The Pod was created…10 games over a three week period..high volume, no fans (besides the few cardboard cutouts), no outside world, lots of hockey and countless nasal swabs.

Coaches felt the team that could survive the grind, recover the quickest and stay the healthiest would likely survive and live to fight another day. We came on board to help…closed our office doors for three weeks, moved into the tram hotel, set up a makeshift hotel treatment room, provided treatments at Baxter, in hallways, in the training room, at all hours of the day and all while masked and staying safe.

It was an unbelievable experience, exhausting, exciting and something we would do again in a heartbeat. Except for the fire in the hotel room below me…that’s another story.

Proud to have been involved, grateful for the chance to work with an incredible group of young men, top shelf staff and an program that just continues to get better!

I’d say that’s a pretty good weekend for our boys!!! Nice work ._miller !!! Keep it rolling!!!

Sometimes the greatest wins come from the partnerships you create. I would love to say I can fix everything..get everyone better that comes through my doors but the truth is that doesn’t happen. I think to be a great doctor you need the humility and self awareness to know when you need to hand the baton off to the next person. To recognize you have invested everything you can and have hit maximum medical benefit under your care…but more importantly helping ensure that patient is set up for success with another quality provider. I feel very fortunate that I have great doctors in my network prepared to help those that need more…if I can’t get you better I promise I know the orthos, PA’s, PT’s, pain mgt specialist that will move things forward! Takes a village…make sure your village is made up of great people!!!
