Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America
It is the vision of the Orange County Council to make a direct and lasting contribution to the development of every boy and girl in the County.
Continuing our celebration of exceptional Silver Beaver awardees, we're proud to spotlight Thomas LaParne today! His journey in scouting, from an Arrow of Light awardee to an Eagle Scout and beyond, showcases a lifelong commitment to guiding the next generation. Thomas's leadership roles as Cubmaster of Pack 101 and Scoutmaster of Troop 274 are just the beginning of his impact.
Beyond the world of scouting, Thomas is involved in his community, from coaching local sports to his active involvement in the Huntington Beach Elks Lodge and significant conservation efforts. His dedication to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, recognized by the Kennedy-Kolpin Lifetime Conservation Award, exemplifies his and his family's commitment to making a lasting difference.
Join us for 'A Night with the Stars' Saturday, March 2nd to celebrate his achievements! โญ

As we gear up for our Annual Celebration Dinner on March 2nd, it's time to shine a light on one of our esteemed Silver Beaver awardees, Dave Klein!
Serving as the Committee Chair for Troop 918, Dave has been a pillar in the scouting community, previously guiding Scouts as Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster.
Dave's roles as Advancement Chair and District Commissioner in the Saddleback District showcase his commitment to Scout advancement and support. His invaluable work on the Councilโs Eagle Extension and Special Needs Committee ensures that every Scout has the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
Dave's influence extends beyond scouting. A father of two, including an Eagle Scout and a college student, he actively contributes to his local community and schools, embodying the spirit of service and leadership.
Join us in honoring Dave and his incredible impact on March 2nd at the Annual Celebration Dinner, 'A Night with the Stars!'

The 2023 Day of Service patch design has been chosen! This year, Carmilla from Troop 1931 designed the patch. Carrmilla's been part of scouting for two years and is a tenderfoot scout. The pine tree is a favorite of Carmilla and is based on a tree planted by a scout at a local historic center where they volunteer.
This year, the committee also recognized an additional design to be used alongside Carmilla's design! Maddie of Troop 606G based her design on a lesson she learned in school about the life of a plastic bag. She is a star scout and a competitive climber.
Congrats to the both of you! ๐๐๐
