Santiago Civics students presented their “Create A Country” presentations to their parents and peers. They were tasked with learning all about different aspects of a country and to create their own. Today our cross country team participated in the last competition of the season, the OCCSL Cross Country Championships at Santiago Canyon College. We are so proud of our whole team, all our athletes did amazing, with our boys taking 1st place! Thank you to the coaches, Mrs. Franco, Mr. Metoyer, and AD, Mr. Connolly for their guidance, and Santiago Canyon College for an amazing event! Way to go Santanas!

Hoy nuestro equipo de correr a larga distancia participó en la última competición de la temporada, el Campeonato de Cross Country de la OCCSL en el Santiago Canyon College. Santiago Canyon College invited our students to a guest lecture today with Mr. Donovan Taylor Hall from Active Minds. This lecture focused on being your own best friend and treating yourself with kindness and other characteristics of a best friend. It was moving, funny, relatable and so good. Our Santiago Civics/Literature students had an opportunity to visit the Orange County Superior Court and sit in on an arraignment. They met superior court judges, a defense attorney and many others who help support and manage our court system. Thank you Mrs. Mallory and Mrs. Mikkelsen for creating this opportunity! Santiago’s National Junior Honor Society spent the morning in Huntington Beach at a beach clean-up! Today we had the opportunity to cheer on ten of our Santana Olympiad Athletes in the 2024 Orange Unified School District Olympiad Games! We had over 200 students in attendance and so many great moments! Thank you to all who worked hard to make this event so special! 💙🌪️

Our conservatory of the arts was able to go watch Aladdin at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts last night! What an impressive show, the performers were amazing, the show was great and we all had a great time. Thank you Mr. Hanson, Ms. Adams and Ms. Lim for giving our students this unique experience! A huge thank you to Judge Adrianne Marshack, representing the Superior Court of California, County of Orange. She spent time with our History 7 Honors class discussing the Salem Witch Trials and how those trials would have proceeded in the modern day court system.
