As I feel blessed to be able to spend holidays with family and friends, I think often of those that are in far away places serving their country, of the families that have an empty place setting. Of loved ones that sat and listened to taps play and heard "on behalf of a grateful nation," of the soldier who came home but the battlefield came home with them. Please take just a few moments over these holidays to think of them, thank a veteran and count your blessings. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Over looking the Rock River Dam, the building is full of character & history, while being the largest retail destination in Oregon, IL., with 2 floors of shopping. You'll find several stores that carry Antiques, Collectibles & out of the ordinary gifts. Have Lunch or Dinner at āHectorās Cocinaā(Mon-Sat). Authentic Mexican Menu; Fast & Fresh, with a Taco Topping (salad) Bar! The Eagleās Nest Art Group (find on Facebook) is located on the 2nd Floor. Bring the family to visit the Blackwawk Train Museum or the Billy Barnhart Farm Museum ( hours vary ) or check out the many pianos throughout the building, some built right inside The Old Piano Factory. Services at Conover Square include 2 hair salons, a ceramic studio, jewelry sales & repair, massage therapy, a photography studio, computer services (all by appointment). The building is Handicap Accessible, including a lift to the 2nd floor
