I always knew that I was a natural caregiver from a young age, so I went on a journey to find my niche in the healthcare field. I originally started in the nursing field working as a CNA for Misericordia Home but felt something was missing. A personal injury is what brought me to discover Massage Therapy. I was so impressed with the difference massage made in my healing process and life that I immediately knew it was my calling.

I attended the Soma Institute for Clinical Massage Therapy and have been a Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist since 2018. There, I learned and now specialize in musculoskeletal pathologies, sports injuries, and stress reduction. I also expanded my studies with an externship working at Loyola University and by volunteering at the Chicago Marathon to evaluate and treat the athletes' conditions post event.

The last several years of my career I worked at one of the top spas in Chicago where I was the lead Therapist in treating neck and shoulder tension, TMJ, joint pain and dysfunctions, sports injuries, and chronic pain. My specialties and certifications also include deep tissue, trigger point therapy, prenatal and sports massage.

In all my sessions, I am focused on performing the highest level of care with detailed, Therapeutic Massage work.

I've been working on my kids a LOT lately. Our 6 year old boy is in basketball, our 5 year old girl is in gymnastics, we hike, bike, and play all kinds of sports, and they love to wrestle at home. Twisted ankles, sprained wrists, shoulder pain, headaches, stiff neck, foot cramps...you name it, they've had it and I've worked on it.

ALL ABOUT YOUTH CARE:
Recommended ages 5-15. Children have muscles, too! Introducing your child to the importance of self-care can greatly increase their chances for continuing it through adult hood. It’s easy to think that children “bounce back” quickly, however their body works just the same as an adult, and injuries early on can have long term lasting effects if not addressed properly. Here are some conditions we treat for our young clients: Joint pains from growth spurts, sore neck and shoulders from heavy backpacks, low back tension from sitting at a school desk, sports injuries or tension from repetitive mechanics (like pitching), muscle strains from vigorous activity, headaches from eye strain with screens, stress, anxiety, self esteem and not sleeping well.

I love posting “REAL CONDITIONS IN REAL CLIENTS” but let’s get real about some of MY OWN conditions here. Below is a list of some of the pains / complications I’ve had, how massage has helped and how long it took to feel relief. Massage can help solve so many issues and here’s proof that I do practice what I preach:

Chronic hamstring knot and tension that built up over a year’s time that started to affect the strength and flexibility of my leg. It began to affect my gait pattern (how I walk), which then caused hip pain. - Solved with trigger point therapy and cupping of hamstrings, IT Band, and massage to other muscles of the leg and glutes. 4 sessions.

Stiff low back from our family camping weekend. Hurt to run or bend. Pain was worse in the morning and stretching did not help at all. – Solved with myofascial release of lumbar area, compressions of low back and glute muscles to release spasms, and special therapy stretching of hamstrings (PNF). 2 sessions

Shoulder tension and rounded shoulders from body mechanics at work. – Solved by deep tissue work of pecs, shoulder, neck muscles, and neuromuscular re-education for pecs and mid and lower traps. – Solved with ongoing maintenance. 1-2 times per month. If I keep up with maintenance, my posture stays well and I have no pain from my repetitive work motions.

Arthritic pain in hands, “carpal tunnel” numbness. – Solved by massage and stretching forearms. Pain gone in 2 sessions then maintenance once a month to help prevent it from coming back.
