LoveyLoaves
LoveyLoaves is a 501(c)(3) "specially-abled" dog rescue and pet wellness non profit organization.
LoveyLoaves is devoted to saving and rehabilitating dogs that have been dealt different circumstances in life. Amputees, blind/deaf, medically complex, carted dogs, those suffering from disease, illness, injury, or disorder…all find solace and safety within the rescue. We strive to open the doors of LoveyLoaves Sanctuary, a safe haven for “specially-abled” dogs. This will be a place where dogs wit
Jubilee is a fireball! We introduced her a couple of weeks ago, and since then we’ve been working to get her figured out in partnership with our general vet, Dr. Minton and our rehab vet, Dr. Mason. Her rear stumps are uneven and due to the lack of corrective surgery at the time of injury, her skin is super tight over her hind stumps and require pain medications. As a 5 month old pup, she’s still growing, but her options seem to be either prosthetics or a cart for mobility. She currently walks on her front legs with her body vertical straight up in the air. This can’t continue because it’s putting pressure on her neck and shoulders, but also as long as she walks and runs in this way she is not a candidate for prosthetics and maybe not even a cart. So Jubilee’s road seems to be leading to a temporary cart to see if we can get her body horizontal rather than vertical. If we can achieve success with this, her options open up greatly.
It’s National Dog Day! Drop a pic of you lovin, on your loveys! ⬇️
We desperately need a CENTRAL FLORIDA foster home for Martha and Lazarus, either together or separate. LoveyLoaves is a special needs and super senior rescue, and we took these pups to save their lives from a bad situation. They were tiny. Now they’re big. They are adorable and amazing dogs, but we have a house full of geriatric and medically needy lil’ loveys that require all of our attention, so now that Martha and Lazarus are healthy they need to move it on along. They play, they wrastle, they run jump roll p*e poo bark… all the puppy things. Still need work on potty training. We supply everything. You supply the love. Step up. If you can’t help, ask your friends and family. ASK EVERYONE! Open your heart and home to Martha and/or Laz. Please!
Pepper, our girl without a bottom jaw, is loving summer and swaying those hips to the sounds of the islands. She’s getting over a skin infection, her bottom jaw is healed, and she’ll be spayed very soon. That means we’ll be looking for her perfect forever home shortly! Watch our page for when she’s ready for adoption. Thank you BGE Grooming for the fun photo and for keeping the lil’ loveys near and pretty.
Tulip has aspirated pneumonia again. She’s been coughing a bit since yesterday so we took her to today and yea… it’s back. This is the same thing we struggled with for 4-months straight just a few months ago. It’s only been three months since she was cleared last time. Last time, our days were full of administering numerous antibiotics, sub-q fluids, in and out of oxygen chamber, driving all over Florida for meds and oxygen tanks, crates, etc… hopefully this time we caught it early enough that we can really hit it hard and fast. So prayers for Tulip please… but also… prayers for us, mainly Cheri as the primary caregiver to the LoveyLoaves pack. We are OVERWHELMED. The previous round of pneumonia kinda traumatized us, unlike anything we’ve ever dealt with within the rescue before so… we’re worried now that it’s upon us again.

We need financial help urgently! We’re still paying off the thousands and thousands of dollars we racked up last time. Please give for Tulip. You can give at the link in our bio or at LoveyLoaves-Ll on Venmo. Thank you!

Lots of Updates Coming your Way!
But before I get into those we need to talk reality. Over the last month we have taken in three major emergency cases: Lazarus, Martha and Jubilee. We did this because as a special needs dog rescue, we were asked to take them. We brought them into LoveyLoaves Rescue, had them assessed, provided emergency veterinary intervention with around the clock care.
When these emergencies happen, the dogs come into the lil’ lovey house because we aren’t sure what type of foster will be needed. We are equipped to provide the care under our amazing Dr. Minton’s supervision. Thus allowing us the opportunity to get them the veterinary care they need and follow up appropriately. This means our home is always in flux with a never-ending stream of dogs needing care. Over the last 13 years we trusted that our dog community would help support us by fostering dogs as they ready for their foster homes.
It seems that we have come to the end of our Central Florida foster support within the dog community. We have begged for fosters and not one person has stepped up. We realize that all rescues are hurting and we are all looking for fosters. However, our REALITY is that Cheri can only care for so many lil’ loveys at one time in our home. We currently are over capacity. Cheri spends all day and night caring for the 14 residing in our home. They all have different needs we are dedicated to. She is also transporting lil’ loveys, providing administrative services, keeping track of medical services, ordering supplies, fundraising, cleaning, cleaning and cleaning etc.
We can no longer take dogs NEEDING our help. It breaks our heart to say that…but we are human and can only care for so many when we aren’t getting foster help.
We still need Central Florida fosters for Martha and Lazarus. Healthy, happy, playful pups. We provide everything you need. You just give them love and a safe place to be….. Foster inquiries can email [email protected].
Thank you Pam and Maureen for all the wish list goodies. We greatly appreciate it!

Happy Friday, friends! It’s a day of jubilation as we welcome Jubilee to LoveyLoaves! This lil’ 4-month-old tot was an emergency intake yesterday. Seems Jubilee was one of an unexpected Yorkie litter, and her mama dog chewed her back legs off. So thankful to Jubilee’s people for getting her to us. That’s what we know until we get her to the vet on Monday. Her hind joints and bone structure seem off so there may be surgical correction involved, we don’t know, but as always we ask for donations to ensure we have the finances to cover her basic vetting and whatever other care she’ll require along the way. She’s playful, doesn’t seem to be in pain, loves her belly rubbed… she just tippy-toes around on her front legs. Video later. Welcome Jubilee, and please donate for her… you can give at LoveyLoaves.org/donate or through Venmo at LoveyLoaves-Ll. Thank you!

***Pixel is for Adoption***
Meet Pixel!!
Pixel is a loving little boy who had a bit of a rough time before he came to LoveyLoaves, so he can be fearful at times. He has IVDD (disc disease) and is paralyzed in his rear legs. He can't potty on his own so he needs his bladder expressed, which is simple and clean to learn and do. He uses a cart for his mobility. He does well with kids, women and other dogs. He likes to go exploring outside with you, but his favorite thing in the world is to snuggle. The perfect home for Pixel would be with an all woman household where they are home a lot. Who can open their heart and home to Pixel?
Email [email protected] for an adoption application.
Martha and Lazarus are in need of a few things....Can you help them out?

Congrats, Fail family! They have whisked Bo Boggy Bogdan off to his forever home and to a new sis, Sasha! This one has been a long time coming. Congrats family!
Laz and Martha spent the day at and both ended up receiving blood transfusions. Laz (right), the much sicker of the two, is going to repeat the transfusion again tomorrow morning. We haven’t talked nor touched any neuro issues yet… goal is to get them stable. They’re anemic, full of worms, malnourished, and emaciated, so that is priority for now. Lazarus is touch-and-go to be watched closely. Thanks for all the caring and sharing, all… and please keep donating either through the link in our bio, or at loveyloaves.org/donate, or through Venmo at LoveyLoaves-Ll. Thank you!
Merry Halfway to Christmas! Does this make you holly-jolly or does it make you want to 🤮? Let us know in the comments!

Good morning from the new dynamic duo, Martha (left) and Lazarus. They had a great night, and they’ll be heading to shortly to get the ball rollin’ in getting them figured out! We’ll keep y’all posted!

Meet Laz and Martha! An angel purchased these two from a meanie awful owner to get them to safety, and then surrendered them to us for much needed help. We were told they were Chi / Jack Russell mixes, but meh… we’re not feeling it. We shall see what develops. There’s obviously a neurological issue (most likely Cerebellar Hypoplasia), they are full of worms, anemic and need a massive overall tune-up. We’re working on getting them settled in. Please donate to their care at loveyloaves.org/donate or through venmo at LoveyLoaves-Ll. Thank you!
