Existing-Home Sales Fade 7.2% in February⁣

- In February, existing-home sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.02 million. Sales were down 7.2% from the prior month and 2.4% from one year ago. ⁣
- The inventory of unsold existing homes slightly increased to 870,000 as of the end of February, equivalent to 1.7 months of supply at the current monthly sales pace.⁣
- The median existing-home sales price rose to $357,300, up 15.0% from one year ago. This marks 120 consecutive months of year-over-year price increases, the longest-running streak on record.⁣

Existing-Home Sales Recede 2.0% in August⁣

- Existing-home sales dropped 2% on a seasonally adjusted annual rate from July to August.⁣
- The inventory of unsold homes decreased 1.5% to 1.29 million from July to August – equivalent to 2.6 months of the monthly sales pace.⁣
- The median existing-home sales price rose at a year-over-year pace of 14.9%.⁣

- Pending home sales decreased by 10.6% in February with all regions showing a decline. ⁣
- After eight consecutive months of year-over-year gains, pending home sales decreased by 0.5% from a year ago. ⁣
- The Pending Home Sales Index fell below 100 in the Northeast and West regions. An index of 100 is equivalent to the level of pending sales in 2001.
