SALT Outreach Inc.
🧂 SALT share Christ's love by serving the unsheltered through comprehensive mobile drop-in centers
Our hours are 9am to 4pm on Sunday and 9am to 5pm Monday through Thursday for both outreach services and case management services.
We bumped into today!
Isai, our VP of Growth, was visiting our partner to pick up food for a client. Patmos Chapel does a twice a month food share for the community. They’re serving hundreds of people a month that need food in the community.
And we happen to bump into Dr. Anna Eskamani who was volunteering to provide food to the Apopka community! It’s a blessing to have someone representing our community at the House of Representatives that isn’t afraid to get in the trenches to help people in need! Thank you for all that you do for your the 42nd District!
We’re back in Daytona! 🙌🏽
Thanks to AdventHealth East Florida Division, we have partnered with Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and are bringing out shower trailer out once per month! Alongside our showers, the church is also providing clothing, hygiene products, and food!
Thank you for your support! You help make this happen!
Every year, the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida spearheads an annual count of people experiencing homelessness. It’s called the “Point in Time Count” or PIT Count. It takes a snapshot on one day a year of the number of people experiencing homelessness in a region. Central Florida’s count was done recently and these are the most alarming stats.
Please share! Let’s create awareness! Homelessness is growing significantly in Central Florida. We all need to do our part to help end homelessness, not just here in Central Florida, but across the US!
We need your help❗️We are working with a single mom with five young children sleeping in their car. Three of her tires need to be replaced, she has a bad car battery, and a gas card.
Our case managers found a shelter that has room for her but it’s 45 minutes away. We need your help to cover the cost of new tires, a gas card, and a new car battery so she can get over to the shelter!
We are hoping that you can help to raise $500 to help this mom and her children!

When you give, add a note saying “car” to your gift (or if you are unable to leave a note, message us with your donation amount saying “car”) so we know you want your donation to go toward this. Any extra we raise will go toward helping other unsheltered guests we meet with similar challenges!
Thank you so much, you make a difference!
Our team was so excited to meet Big Nova Foundation Executive Director Sarah Asma this morning.
We are excited to continue our partnership with them to serve our unhoused neighbors and help to end their homelessness!
In this situation, human effort could only get us so far. So what did we do? We prayed.
We prayed as a team constantly about this. We prayed for a miracle because we knew that’s what it would take. And He answered in a big way.
We knew He would not leave all of these people living that have no choice but to sleep on the street, without their basic needs met.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.” Ephesians 3:20-21
Thank you to Big Nova Foundation and everyone else who is helping to provide for the thousands in need, in our city! We are about 70% toward our goal. You can view the Summer SALT Fundraiser at the link below or you can text “Summer SALT” to 44321 to get a link to your phone to view it there.

Everyone deserves the dignity of a shower and clean clothes. When we heard SALT Outreach Inc was suspending services in Orlando, we knew we wanted to help. Big Nova Foundation is humbled to be able to grant $300,000 to help ensure that services are not interrupted.
Our biggest hope is that our confidence in Eric and his team will inspire others to support their work.
Sparking Hope. Igniting Change. While Keeping Ever Mindful of the Needs of Others.
We’re not even halfway through the month but our case management budget is depleted. So we need your help take this family whole again.
The father has been having a hard time finding employment after being released from jail. He was staying with his parents who have both now passed away, without the shared income, it has led to his homelessness.
After sitting with case management, we were able to confirm that the mother and their child who live in New Mexico are able and willing to take him in, ending his homelessness!
We need your help in raising $300 to make that happen.
You can donate directly on this post, you can donate by texting “summer salt” to 44321, at the link in profile, or you can donate through one of these other ways:

It’s that time of year: the Summer SALT Fundraiser.
Between July 1st through September 30th this year, we need your help to raise $200,000!
Two generous donors offered $3,250 in matching funds to start us out. That means the first $3,250 donated will be matched dollar for dollar!
Two generous donors offered $3,250 in matching funds to start us out.
This post shows why it is necessary for us to reach this goal, and to do so in certain increments. $65,000 in July, $60,000 in August, and $75,000 in September.
Since COVID grants are not an option in 2024, all of our direct services in downtown Orlando, are 100% funded by you and your financial gifts.
Unsheltered homelessness has doubled year over year so the direct services we provide are literally keeping people alive while they sleep on the street. That shower for that 70 year old, the laundry services for that family living in their car, and providing a mailing address for that person looking for a job are all things that your donations would go to support.
Ultimately, this leads to getting people into housing! To support via bank draft, credit card, PayPal, apply pay, and G pay you can text “Summer SALT” to 44321. This will send a link to your phone where you can view the fundraiser!
Or, you can give through one of these other ways, and the fundraising meter will be updated within three days.
P.S. I appreciate your support! We will be setting up the following fundraisers on Instagram to help cover 10% of our Summer SALT Goals! July: $6,500; August: $6,000; and August: $7,500.
Imagine experiencing homelessness in your car, then your car breaks down? 😔 One of the worse parts about that is having no AC and not being able to travel to and from work.
This month, SALT volunteers helped to repair three cars for people experiencing homelessness: one with a young working couple, another with a mom and her baby, and another of a young adult (pictured above).
SALT was built on volunteers, and although we do have paid staff, we rely on 100’s of volunteers each year to keep things running. The need is great and the more we work together, the more we can do to help those that are suffering ❤️ your support helped make this happen. Thank you for all you do!
🎉 Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of freedom and reflection. Let’s honor this historic milestone and continue our journey towards justice, equality, and unity for all.

Your support is needed now more than ever!
An annual census of people experiencing homelessness in Central Florida found an increase, including more than twice as many who are compared to last year.
Homeless Services Network of Central Florida says the results are “tragic.” This year’s Point-In-Time Count showed unsheltered homelessness in the Orange, Osceola and Seminole tri-county area is up 105% since the last count in 2023.
On a single night, the overall number of people experiencing across the three counties was found to be 2,883. Among those 1,201 were unsheltered. Network CEO Martha Are said that, for the first time, over half of the homeless population 65 and older is living without shelter.
According to the report, the findings mirror what local nonprofits have been witnessing. On the whole, homelessness is up 28%, with unsheltered homelessness showing the most dramatic spike — an increase that Are said was “sad but not totally unexpected.”

🇺🇸 Honoring the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Today, we remember and thank them. 🕊️🌹
A single mom experiencing homelessness with her six kids (all below 11 years old) need your help. Let’s try to raise these funds to get her into housing by Mother’s Day ❤️
She has been working with our case management team and we do not have the budget to cover the cost of the security deposit and first month’s rent for this three bedroom/two bathroom place.
With the father no longer in the picture or supporting them, she wasn’t able to handle the rent on her previous location which led to her homelessness 😞
We are appealing for our following on Instagram and Facebook to help cover this cost 🙏🏼 every bit counts toward getting this family of seven into housing.

Thank you so much for your support and we will keep you posted!
This past Monday, the Christian Service Center for Central Florida and Homeless Services Network of Central Florida, organized a press conference at the same time as a crucial US Supreme Court Hearing. The hearing was to determine if arresting someone experiencing homelessness for being on public property, when shelters were full (so they have no where else to go), is violating the 8th amendment as cruel and unusual punishment.
Our President Eric Camarillo spoke alongside other executives, advocates, and government leaders who all believe the solution is housing not handcuffs. And who also believe arresting someone experiencing homelessness for sleeping outside, when the have no where else to go, is cruel and unusual indeed.
If the ruling of this case, deems this not violating the 8th amendment, it will set a precedent across the US that could make it even harder for organizations like us to end homelessness for people.
Let’s pray for more housing, not handcuffs.
