Later, they dug into some Gitto’s Pizza with State Attorney Andrew Bain and got an inside look at his day-to-day.

Hankins Park is turning the big 5-0! 🎂🌳
In 1974, this space was dedicated to Dr. I. Sylvester Hankins, a prominent physician and civil rights advocate for Orlando’s Black community. Recently, Hankins Neighborhood Center staff and students came together for a birthday party, celebrating a half century of fun in the sun.
Happy Birthday, Hankins Park! 🎉
Today, we mourn the loss of Willie Mays, a true giant of baseball whose impact reached far beyond the field. His legacy will forever inspire generations to come. Rest in peace, Willie Mays.
Happy Juneteenth! Students at our Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center reflected on emancipation by designing flags to honor the holiday. Let’s reflect on the past, embrace the journey toward equality, and continue to uplift voices of change!

Gearing Up for the Best Summer Ever! 🌤️😎
Every year, Recreation staff from across the city come together for a week of summer camp training. Although we love a good team building moment, it’s not all fun and games taking care of your kids. Each counselor learns CPR and first aid plus instruction on social emotional learning and classroom management.
Not to brag, but we think we have some of the BEST 🙌 summer programs in Orlando, and that’s because of our amazing team and families who make it possible! 💙
