Last week AAP’s McNair Scholars attended the 2024 SAEOPP McNair-SSS Research Conference in Atlanta, Georgia!

If you are attending a research conference soon and need some advice check out the message below!

✨1. Knowing your audience is crucial when preparing or presenting a poster or oral presentation.

✔️2. Instead of reading directly from your poster or PowerPoint slides, aim to summarize the content and provide additional insights. Your presentation should flow like a story.

👀3. Maintaining eye contact with your audience is essential as it helps to build a connection, keeps the audience engaged, and demonstrates your confidence in the material you are presenting.

By following these tips, you can deliver a compelling and impactful presentation that resonates with your audience.

The HBCU Mentoring Program is holding the 2024 ‘STEM Careers beyond MD and PhD’ Virtual Workshop Series. This series is an opportunity for undergrads to interact directly with experts in lucrative and fulfilling biomed careers. Each of the panelists trained in certificate, masters, or doctoral programs other than MD and PhD.

This workshop will be divided in 2 parts:
Thursday, April 18th 12PM - 1PM
Tuesday, April 23rd 4PM - 5PM

All HBCU and MSI students are welcome! 🙌
