In case you missed it, the Navy's Mental Health Playbook has been updated to reflect many new resources and pertinent information for Sailors and their families!
The new version reflects the recent passage of the Brandon Act (NAVADMIN 166/23). The playbook assists Navy leaders in preventing, mitigating, or addressing mental health issues within commands, but serves the entire force.
By using the resources and products in this playbook, you will help your shipmates and community members to:
• Promote safe discussion of su***de prevention
• Have effective conversations about mental and emotional wellness
• Recognize risk factors and early warning signs
• Understand how and where to seek help
• Become familiar with lethal means safety and safe storage best practices of personally owned fi****ms
• Become familiar with the Navy’s resources, policies, and training supporting stress navigation and su***de prevention
• Practice simple ways to strengthen their physical, psychological, and emotional health and well-being
• Make a difference in the lives of every Sailor, every day
