About Carl Joseph
I am Carl Joseph. I’m an artist who expresses the desire for unity and empowerment through my paintings. In an age where so many of us feel trapped or unable to express our true feelings, I have resulted to art as an outlet of expression to become more liberated and to experience the freedom of self-expression. Through art I am free.
Growing up, I’ve always felt like I needed a positive outlet or a way to express who I am and my pain. Something that could be long-lasting and would make a positive impact on the people around me. To do that, I had to go back to the start. I’ve been painting since elementary school and I felt like it was something I was always good at but was always taught I couldn’t make a living off of it.
I feel like everyone has a higher being in them – everybody has the power within them to achieve greatness.
The abstract of my work usually consists of hidden silhouette faces. The faces represent everyone – different shapes, colors, etc. And the way I see it is that if we all can come together than we can create something bigger and beautiful. However, I don’t think we can truly reach unity until we have a better understanding of ourselves.
My logo represents the higher version of you; being the King or Queen you truly are. It’s taking all the pain and experiences and crowning it – accepting, adapting, and overcoming it.
