Get in shape, loosen some tight muscles, alleviate those aches and pains, or make some new friends; these are just some things you may find in our senior water aerobics classes held weekly, Monday through Friday. Join us each day at 10:30am for a 30-40-minute class incorporating a mixture of stretching and cardio and some resistance training using buoyant water weights and pool noodles. Mondays and Wednesdays are for a relaxing class focusing mainly on stretching and strengthening all of our muscles. Join us Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, where we turn up the music and energy level for a more aerobic and fun class filled with lots of movement and fun tunes! All ability levels are encouraged to participate!! Join us! Each session costs $1; the $1 fee allows access to the pool for the 10am-12pm time period. There are also lanes available for laps during that time and the deep end for treading water or socializing with a friend while exercising! Current senior swim membership or open swim membership is required to use the pool.
Mobile Shredder is coming to Ossining
Saturday, July 30, 2022 10:00am 01:00pm
Out of an abundance of caution and in light of COVID-19, we have implemented new safety guidelines for our public shredder events in order to ensure the health and safety of residents and staff.
Residents can bring up to 4 file-size (10”x12”x15”) boxes of confidential papers per household to Ossining, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for shredding. Please remove all large binder clips and covers. Papers from businesses, institutions or commercial enterprises are not acceptable and will be rejected, as will any junk mail or newspapers.
First come, first served
Service at the events works on a first-come-first-served basis, as the Mobile Shredder unit can reach its maximum capacity before closing time. In extreme weather, events may be cancelled or terminated early.
Important information
It is important to be aware of what you place the paper to be shredded, no matches, lighters or anything combustible. Staff at the events will be checking the material prior to being shredded.
Please call the county's Recycling Helpline at (914) 813-5425 to check on a cancellation or early closure.
Kinds of documents to shred
Remember, it's best to shred documents you're no longer using, that contain personal identifying information such as name, address, phone number, credit card number or social security number. Such documents should be shredded before they are thrown out for recycling. Some examples are:
expired credit card statements and receipts
old tax returns or any other personal documents containing you name, address or other identifying information.
pre-approved credit card applications
licenses
As this service is gaining in popularity, residents should be prepared to wait as lines are sometimes long. However, the wait doesn't have to be that long. Come prepared. This means you've removed all metal clips, fasteners, binders, folders and hard covers and placed the papers loosely in a box. Hard covers – cardboard or plastic covers on items such as ledger books, marble composition books and hard-cover books – cannot be shredded and will be turned away. Residents must rip pages out from hard cover books for shredding and throw the covers in their regular household trash. Up to four boxes of papers are allowed for shredding.
For more information about identity theft, call the Dept. of Consumer Protection (914) 995-2155. For questions about recycling, call (914) 813-5425, the Recycling Helpline.

Beginning October 24, 2021, any local calls made in the following area codes must dial 10-digits, area code + phone number, or the call will not go through:New Jersey: 856, 908
New York: 516, 845, 914
What do I need to do?
In addition to changing the way you dial local calls, all services, automatic dialing equipment, or other types of equipment that are programmed with a 7-digit number must be reprogrammed to complete calls to 10-digit numbers. Some examples are PBX, life safety systems, fax machines, Internet dial-up numbers, alarm and security systems, gates, speed dialers, call forwarding settings, and voicemail services. Be sure to check your website, personal and business stationery, advertising materials, personal and business checks, contact information, your personal or pet ID tags, and other such items to ensure the area code is included. What will remain the same?•Your phone number, including current area code, will not change. •The price of a call, coverage area, and other rates and services will not change. •Calls now considered local will remain local calls regardless of the number of digits dialed. •3-digit dialing of emergency and information numbers like "211" and "911" will remain the same. •Long-distance and toll calls still require dialing 1 + area code + phone number. Why is this change being made? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted "988" as a new 3-digit number to be used nationwide to reach the National Su***de Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline, starting July 16, 2022. In order for "988" to work in the above area codes, 10-digit local dialing must first be implemented.

Have you had a chance to return your Dog Census? We realize it's summertime and you might have been away so we are extending the time to return the dog census until August 15, 2021. Simply mail or drop off the card. If you have begun the licenseing process please just put pending on the line for the license number .....
Have you licensed your dog? It important that everyone do this for a few reasons.
1. A dog license means that the dog has a rabies vaccination
2. Should your dog get out without you knowing anyone can call the office and we ccan get in touch with you about your dog..
3. It's New York State Law
Please note: If your dog is lost, he/she will be taken to the SPCA and you will have to pay a fee and have your dog licennsed before they will release him/her.
Thanks so much
