Senate Hook & Ladder Co., 1
Establish: May 21,1857
August is approaching, this can only mean one thing. Parade day is near! Friday, August 2nd at 7pm, your OFD volunteers along with many others will take to the streets of the O for this long standing tradition! This year we will be holding our annual parade in conjunction with the Westchester County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Convention Parade.
The route remains the same as it’s always been. We start uptown at Roosevelt Square (Pleasantville Rd & Croton Ave) proceeding down Croton Ave across Route 9 (Hobels Corner) to Main St down to the Waterfront. We all have our favorite spots to setup camp, maybe it’s at Mike Risko Music School on Croton Ave or maybe on Main St at First Village Coffee. Where ever you watch from it’s always a great night with family, friends, & fire trucks!
Make those plans and save the date!
We will provide additional information here for our spectators & participants in the coming days. We look forward to welcoming all to our community, and of course seeing all of our neighbors on the route!

Ossining Fire Department Inspection 2021.
The topic of this month's company drill for L-41 was roof Ventilation. The officers of L-41 utilized a roof prop courtesy of Montrose FD. Going over and refreshing different cuts, saws and ladders used to make our job safer and easier. We added a little effect of smoke in the structure to simulate a heavy smoke condition while setting up and cutting. Always good to refresh on skills , you never know when they can be put into play. The officers and members of Senate H&L L-41 would like to thank the Montrose Fire Department for the use of their prop.
Congratulations to Jim Covert!!!!
“DC 46” 50 year member of Ladder 41 and the OFD.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers/sisters in Spring Valley along with the rest of the Rockland County fire Department.
As we continue to hear the updates from the scene of the fire this morning in Rockland County. The OFD extends our Support & Prayers to all that operated especially the Men & Women of Dept. 17, Spring Valley FD.
Today the Ossining Fire Department started 2021 with the changing of the guards. We didn't say goodbye to Manny DaCruz but thanked him for the past 6 years of dedication as he progressed through the ranks of Chief, and welcomed him as he joins the ranks of OFD's Deputy Chiefs as DC 58.
We congratulated Scott Gallery as he was sworn in as the new Chief Engineer of The OFD as car 2331.
Also, moving up the chief ranks to car 2332 was Chief Stanley Scarduzio
And finally we are excited to announce the swearing in of the newest addition to the rank of 2nd Assistant Chief Louis "Fredo" Sanchez. Congratulations to all, best of luck in your new positions and we support all of you and know you will make us proud.
Have a Healthy and Safe Holidays.
A missing minion was reported yesterday from Ossining L-41
Kevin aka BOB was last seen on Friday Dec. 18th 2020 between the hours of 9:30am and 2:00pm in the quarters of Senate H&L
An A.P.B. went out and a recon team was assembled and dropped into the Sound Shore area for a search and rescue mission being called "save the minion"
We are happy to report that BOB was spotted and extracted without incident. On Saturday Dec. 19th 2020 BOB does not seem to be injured and is being evaluated at a local hospital.
The officers and members of L-41 would like to send a message to all parties involved that justice will be served. And a big thank you to "save the minion" extraction team.
Love always L-41 Fire Patrol & Rescue Co # 1
Thank you West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company
The officers and members of L-41 are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of one of our own. Our deepest condolences goes out to his family, friends and our fellow OFD brothers and sisters especially the lives he had touched the most. Its always tough to lose someone, but tougher around the holidays. We at Senate H&L are always available to lend an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on or someone to laugh with and share memories. You will be deeply missed Andrew J Panken. Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Louis Fredo Sanchez
Congratulations to Louis Fredo Sanchez from Senate Hook & Ladder Co., 1. Our New Elected 2nd Assistant Chief of the Ossining Fire Department along with Chief Scott Gallery and and 1st Assistant Michael Scarduzio
On Wed., Oct. 28th the officers of L-41 held a forcible entry drill along with L-41 & TL-42 members utilizing the Multi Force, forcible entry door simulator. Over a few hours we used different techniques to hone our skills on this prop. We trained on one person forcible entry, 2 person entry, inward and outward, left and right swinging doors, metal and wood door jams. Training is important to us and always fun alongside our fellow truckies.
