If you didn't know there is an ADA kayak launch in the Inner Harbor! It's located at the south end of Onondaga Lake. There's an accessible parking lot that is connected to a walking path where you can get to the kayak launch. The launch has a durable aluminum-welded frame. Great news!

Green Lakes State Park has officially put in a mobility mat on their beach! If you've never heard of a mobility mat it is a mat made of a synthetic mesh that provides a firmer surface to make it easier to cross the sand. There are different beaches that have many mats on their beaches but Green Lakes has one so far which is a great step in the right direction!

UPDATE: Pickleball demo cancelled for today due to the weather but will be scheduled for a later date in September. Stay tuned.

Two of our members, Myles and Jaime Favata met Shaqueem Griffin, former NFL player, who played with one hand. Shaqueem was in Binghamton for a big adaptive sports event today promoted by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Here's a fun upcoming event that we will be participating in. Join kids and families impacted by Spina Bifida and other disabilities from Central New York for a fun afternoon of inclusive outdoor recreation. Participants can try out adaptive birding, fishing, cycles, kayaking, and running chariots to complete a 1-mile walk and roll, a family-style picnic, 50/50, raffles, testing out adaptive equipment, and visiting with local vendors and service organizations. 3pm-7pm at the Inner Harbor. Pickleball tonight at 6:00pm at Hanlon Pool and Ellis Field Park. We play a mixed version with players in sport wheelchairs combined with able bodied players. Its a fun game and it looks like it'll be great weather. Look for our trailer near McCool Ave.

Last Friday we participated in Roxboro Rd Elementary's Bike Day. The kids played wheelchair basketball and tried some of our adaptive cycles. Everyone seemed to have a great time! A big THANK YOU to our volunteers! We couldn't do it with out them!
