October is National Dental Hygiene Month. We want to give our RDH a huge shout out at LeBlanc and Associates! We value their knowledge, insight and professionalism that they add to our practice each and every day.

DID YOU KNOW⁉️ Registered Dental Hygienists complete two years of undergraduate college classes that emphasize in science and math prior to acceptance into a RDH program. Upon completion of their program, they are required to pass a National Written and Clinical Board Exam to obtain a license. They stay up to date on the latest dental standards and procedures and complete several Continuing Education Courses.

With our pediatric patients, they are the BEST at their gentle approach to “sleepy teeth” and scale hardened build up from teeth without a peep. We are lucky to have committed dental hygienists that use their expertise to provide an excellent dental experience for each and every patient. 💙🦷

Curious about when your child should expect a visit from the Tooth Fairy? Baby teeth start to get replaced by permanent adult teeth sometime around age 6! Between 6-12, they will usually lose all 20 baby teeth! Children must develop healthy oral habits early on to help build strong teeth and a beautiful smile!! 😁

One of the most time-sensitive dental injuries is a Dental Avulsion, or complete displacement of an adult tooth.🦷

What do you do after your child has fallen and their tooth is completely out of the dental socket⁉️🤔

1. Locate the tooth and grab it by the crown with a clean hand.🔎
2. If the tooth is soiled, gently rinse with milk or saline.🥛
3. If able, reimposition and replant the tooth back to its normal position as soon as possible.
4. Have your child bite down on a towel, or cloth to keep the tooth in place.
5. If you are unable to reimplant the tooth, store it in milk and head urgently to us!🚗
