In honor of today, we’d like to introduce the four-legged support staff at OPDD. They work from home, typically evenings and weekends, and we couldn’t imagine life without them. 😉🐶

Today we are celebrating ! 🧚 Since 1908, tales of the tooth fairy have been told all around the world. Who knew she has a day job cleverly disguised as our hygienist, Shanda?? In addition to providing the best cleanings around, she is truly gifted at getting kids AND adults excited about dental care. If you haven’t had a cleaning with her, give us a call to see for yourself! 🦷🪥

Technology plays a vital role in our practice. We use the most accurate and reliable tech available to provide the best patient experience. This afternoon we trained on new software…and managed to giggle juuuuuuust a little bit along the way. 😁

We’re celebrating today, grateful to be part of this team of strong, talented women. Here’s to all of the women we work with at other offices, our friends, our families, our daughters, and the women who raised us. 🥂

We love what we do, and we are a team who really enjoys spending time together. We always say we get to come to work and see our friends.

My family is everything to me. My husband Matt and I met in 2007, were married 2008 and had our first child, Lola, in 2009! We were busy! Since then we added two more children to the mix...and we're even busier! Lola is now 12, Alton is 4, and Silas is 8 months. It's been so fun to watch our patients and their families grow and change along with my own. It's a unique bond that you don't get in just any old job.

We do so many amazing things in our office, and seeing our patients go through transformations to end up with healthy, beautiful smiles is the best. Many of those cases take weeks to months to complete, but one treatment I absolutely love is our whitening services. We have ZOOM! for in-office whitening. In a 2-hour appointment we can whiten teeth by several shades. I like it so much, I even did it on my brother (those are his before and after)! For more convenient whitening, we use Opalescent GO!. I'm able to whiten whenever I want really, and with three kiddos that's super important to me.

Liz came on board last summer while I was on maternity leave with my third child. She made my time transitioning back into the practice enjoyable and comfortable! Her German Shepherd, Emma, has even become an honorary member of our family after staying with us over the holidays. That's Emma, napping on the couch with me after hosting my first Thanksgiving meal ever. I’ve loved getting to know Liz and look forward to many years of us working together!

Cassie and I have the best time working up front together for many years. She joined the practice with so much dental experience and knowledge it was a real treat getting to learn from her and her experiences. We have shared many firsts together through the years, and always have fun together!

Shanda was my first friend here at OPDD! She’s such an awesome person, not to mention awesome hygienist. I told her after my first appointment with her that I haven’t had such a thorough and comfortable cleaning in my life!!! We enjoy our days at work together along with dinners and corn hole with our families!

I have been an employee of Dr. Lillis’ for over 10 years and we have had a lot of laughs and good times through the years. I feel very blessed to be part of such an amazing team and am very grateful for the opportunity Dr. Lillis gave me 10 years ago! The relationships we are able to form with our patients are my absolute favorite part.

This August marks 11 years I've been at OPDD! I've learned a lot about insurance and treatments in that time. I've also been in the chair as a patient plenty - from cleanings by Shanda (I'm an every 3 month patient, like many of you. Gotta keep those gums healthy!) to having orthodontics a second time as an adult. I'm happy to talk about any of our treatments or answer questions any time.

I've lived in the Kansas City area for most of my life. I graduated from Shawnee Mission East, Class of 2002. After high school, I attended Kansas State University.

My happy place is anywhere spending time with family and friends; cooking, entertaining, and being together are my favorites. I * LOVE* my sweets, but also my veggies! :D

I am a cheer coach for 6th-8th graders (and one of those 6th graders is my daughter, Lola). We have a great cheer family and love both the camaraderie and the competition.

Gardening is a passion, and this time of year has me antsy to get outside and play in the dirt!
