1) Learn the signs of elder abuse and how we can solve the issue together.
2) Prevent isolation. Call or visit our older loved ones and ask how they are doing on a regular basis.
3) Talk to friends and family members about how we
can all age well and reduce abuse with programs and
services like law enforcement, community centers, and
public transportation.
4) Sign up to be a friendly visitor to an older person in our communities.
It is up to all of us to prevent and address elder abuse!

Our friend, Sharon, asked us to spread the word about her new group, "Coffee with Caregivers" for anyone caring for a loved one in the home. Sharon started this group to find emotional support for herself as she cares for her aging parents, and would love for any interested caregivers to join her.

Meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month, with the first one being held this Saturday, February 10th.

Each year the Kansas City Regional Home Care Association hosts a luncheon to recognize members of the community for their positive contributions to the home care and health care community.

For over 25 years Dan's passion has been to educate seniors, families, and healthcare providers on ways to protect assets and pay for quality care. This week he was recognized for his tremendous effort in helping seniors in the Kansas City area, and we could not be more proud of him. Way to go, Dan!

On this day, we will not forget the sacrifice and service of the brave that defended our country in 1941. May we remember their courage, their fighting spirit and how they faced the odds in the surprise attack. We will remember them today and always.

Prom With a Purpose
The countdown is on! We are less than two months away from Shepherd's Center 2023 Prom With A Purpose event. This event is held each year to raise money that will provide peer-to-peer programs, reduce food insecurity, and increase social activity for seniors in our area.
