Our JC SVA participated in Green Zone Training hosted by Hondo Tamez. Green Zone training provided valuable insights to staff and faculty on campus, enhancing their understanding of the unique challenges and concerns faced by military-connected students. This training equipped them with the knowledge and tools necessary to better support these students, fostering a more inclusive and responsive educational environment.

JCCC Retirees Association Hosts Veterans Community Project Pantry Collection; Tues., Jul. 30

The JCCC Retirees Association will be collecting pantry items for the Veterans Community Project (VCP) Pantry on Tuesday July 30 from 9 am – 2 pm. The VCP serves homeless veterans in our community as well as those veterans and their families in need of a little extra help to get by. Their pantry is currently exceptionally low on the following items.:
Rice
Dry Beans/legumes
Spaghetti Sauce
Hearty/Chunky Soups
Cooking Soups
Canned Vegetables
Canned Fruit
Peanut Butter
Jelly
JCCCRA members will be staffing a tent in the Nerman Museum's east circle drive to collect your donation. This is a “drive by/drop off” collection for those who are off campus (no need to find parking). On-campus staff/students can stop by the tent to make their donation.

80th anniversary of D-Day is today 6/6/24.

Join us Saturday, June 8, for the KCVA 8th Annual Salute to Women Veterans. All Women Veterans are welcome!

The recognition event will be held in the Honor Annex Parking Lot (4251 Northern Avenue, Kansas City MO, 64133) from 10:00am to 12:00pm. We will be honoring our Women Veterans with flowers, certificates, lapel pins, music and more!

Supplies needed! Veterans Community Project of Kansas City's next Commissary Day is Wednesday, February 28th and the pantry shelves are alarmingly bare. We know there are over 120 Veterans who count on the Commissary to help stretch their already stretched food budgets and we're not yet prepared to help. With the rising cost of groceries, regular donations and collection drives have been few and far between.
