Many in our profession are aware of the current cases of malaria identified in Florida and Texas. Please see the linked CDC advisory. One of the most important statements in the advisory is that laboratories must "ensure that qualified personnel who can perform and interpret these (malaria) tests are available." That means that board certified MLS or MLT are doing this important work. If you or someone you know has a biology, chemistry or biochemistry degree and wants to work in a clinical laboratory, they need to earn their credentials to do so. Medical Laboratory Science at Stevenson University has a categorical certificate program specifically for these folks. Message us for more information!
