During our Summer Program, students enjoy water play days to both cool off in the summer heat, and because there are many benefits to water play.
-Sensory: Water play allows for students to explore the sensory aspects of water. They get to explore the touch, feel, and sensations of water.
-Emotional Regulation: High-energy water exploration allows children to take the time to regulate their own emotions by releasing any nervous energy and provides children an opportunity to reset their emotions.
-Communication Skills: Playing with water in a class setting can allow for children to forge relationships and improve their communication skills as they must ask their other classmates how they prefer to play with the water.

⭐Ms. Rowena was drawn to the field of Education after her mother was a first-grade teacher which inspired her to want to teach young minds.
⭐She has been teaching for over 24 years now in both Montessori and Catholic schools.
⭐Ms. Rowena enjoys leading practical life activities with her students like doing the dressing forms or pouring liquids. All these skills help to develop students' fine and gross motor skills while Montessori materials compliment each learning category, bridging the classroom and home with meaningful experiences.
⭐Outside of school Mr. Rowena enjoys hiking, cooking, playing board games, and playing video games with her husband.
⭐Her favorite CMMS tradition is dressing up for Spirit Week and Halloween with her student
