We can’t let the month end without giving a special recognition to our breast cancer survivor. Sarah is a two time breast cancer survivor! In 2014, she felt a lump in her right breast. She had a mammogram and then a biopsy and was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Siri. She had a double mastectomy with reconstruction. She continued to do self breast exams, and unfortunately in 2016 she felt a lump in the same breast. Her doctors recommended treatment. She was then diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast cancer. She is triple positive, HER2 Positive. She had a total of 17 treatments of chemotherapy and 33 rounds of radiation. She is now 6 years out from her second diagnosis and we are so happy to have her working for us. She continues to see her oncologist every 6 months. She would like to remind you to get your mammogram!!

Courtney Pruitt, NP-C is now offering viscosupplementation injections covered by most insurances up to 6 times per year. She is also offering a walk-in clinic on Mondays from 2:00-4:30pm for management of chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis and low back pain. She accepts Medicare, BCBS, and Cigna. Dr. Field along with Dr. Charles Hill and the athletic trainers from NWCC were on the sidelines for the Rangers first home game!! The Rangers had a big win over the Gulf Coast Bulldogs last night! The score was 28-24!! Way to go! Ranger Up!!🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

We finally got to meet the very busy head football coach for Mississippi Valley State University!! Dr . Field takes care of all the athletes at MVSU and works especially close with the football team. Coach Vincent Dancy is going into his fourth season and the future is bright at the Valley! 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Look who we get to welcome to the USM family! Our nurse practitioner, Courtney, delivered a handsome baby boy this past week! Stetson was born on April 12 at 8lbs 3 oz!! Mom and family are all home and doing well!! We can’t wait to meet him!! Congratulations 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

We had a great day doing physicals for the Oxford Chargers! We did over 1000 physicals for students in sixth to twelfth grade! Great day to be an Oxford Charger!!💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙

University Sports Medicine is saddened by the passing of Mr. Leroy Mullins. He was the athletic trainer for the Ole Miss Rebels for 30 years. Dr. Field and Leroy worked alongside each other while taking care of the Rebels. Over the years while working together they received awards from the Southeastern Athletic Trainers Association. May his family be lifted in prayer now and the weeks to come. May he Rest In Peace.

Look what’s coming to USM! Our nurse Courtney is now a certified nurse practitioner. She will be accepting patients in the near future. We are excited to transition her into this role. Stay tuned for more details regarding scheduling with Courtney Pruitt, NP-C.
