It’s the time of year for Toys for TOTs. We are accepting donations for toys for Both the Toys for tots and also the Tribe Toy drive. Both of the donation boxes are at the post. All Toys go to Nye County kids. You can’t go wrong by donating to the cause of you choose. We decided this year to support both.

Pahrump Valley Homeless Youth program is looking for all sizes of winter coats, gloves, hats, socks and underwear. It’s getting colder outside and If you want to help you can bring them into the VFW and we will make sure they get them.

What an amazing Trunk or Treat. Thanks to all the Volunteers. For the 1st one. It was amazing. Can’t wait for next years.

Hello everyone. I would like to invite you to participate in our first annual Trunk or Treat event at the VFW. We are trying to get as many trunks to decorate as possible. We would also like to have the kids come and enjoy all the decorations. We will need volunteers to assist with parking for guests, photo booth for Halloween pictures, and of course clean up at the end. Please let me know if you can attend with a car or for any of the needed volunteering. You will need to provide candy for your own vehicle if you plan to pass candy out.

This Halloween night starting at 5PM. We will be setting up starting at 4PM.

Bring your classic cars, candy and decorations.

We are reopening the Canteen tomorrow at 10am. We have masks at the signin book in case anyone wants one. The entire canteen is being sanitized (thanks Jake and Vicky) as I sit here posting this.

The first planned meal will be Sunday Breakfast from 8-11am. No tacos, wings or Friday night dinnner.

So, anyone who thinks it’s easy to close a place down temporarily due to illness is sadly mistaken. We as a team, fought closing down until we couldn’t any more. We know Veterans rely on us. We rely on them. It was a decision made to keep everyone safe. Veterans, members and guests alike. We will reopen when we are all healthy, and our manpower is up allowing us to serve you all. Please be patient as we muddle through this. Any complaints can come to me. Steven Kennard, Commander. This is who you may complain to at any time. It’s not about politics, it’s about the health and safety of everyone and I stand behind it 100%.

Had a Veteran call today. Both him and his wife are disabled and needs help moving this weekend. Only a 1/2 mile move. Anyone one who can help please IM us. Thank you. Needs a truck and some muscle work. Limited income.

Happening at the Post



We have a busy few weeks coming up and I wanted to let you all know what’s going on.

This Week is meeting week meaning House Committee is Thursday at 3PM. Friday is the Audit at 4PM.

Saturday is meeting day with the Post meeting at 12 Noon and the Auxiliary meeting starting at 1PM.

We will be hosting Dan Bailey’s Celebration of Life at 4PM. Attire is Hawaiian or Tie Dye Shirts. Dan was a long time Officer of the Post of 12 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and loved everyone he met and treating everyone like family. This is open to anyone. So please come out and Support Jane (Wife) and the entire family at this special time.

Monday is Patriots Day, September 11th. The Remembrance is at 10am by the Flagpole and is Followed by the Flag Retirement at 11am.

Monday Night Football Starts in again on September 11th, with Drink Specials, Hotdogs and the Game on all the Screens.

Saturday the 16th is the Ron Benson Celebration of life. Most of our Members know Ron from all the Hours over the years he worked in the Kitchen and the Food Bank. A Vietnam Veteran and a good friend to so many.

Don’t forget Sunday Breakfast from 8-11am, Taco Tuesday 5-7PM, Wednesday Wings and Things 5-8PM, Friday Night Dinner from 5-7PM.
