Step #4 - Wedding Industry Gender Norms

Gender identity isn’t easy to understand, and sometimes, we need to unlearn some of our old ideas about what it is to understand what gender is all about. Most of us were taught that there are only two genders (man and woman) and two s*xes (male and female). However, "gender" encompasses much more than that.

“Gender is a social construct…” meaning it’s a made-up belief that has changed throughout history. Have you been to Europe lately? Gender history and changes in gender “beliefs” are displayed on the walls of many museums, from paintings dating back to the 1500s all over Europe!
