We’re busy raising kids, too. So we know that pockets of “free time” are few and far between — or nonexistent, depending on how old your kids are.
We also know that making sure your kids have the support they need means everything. Which is why we’ve made it easy for you to manage your child’s mental health care — from anywhere.
Our app is available on both iOS and Android devices. Now, you can schedule a therapy session from a parking spot. Send a question to a coach from the farmers market. You can even put in your mobile coffee order and get through a quick-read article about how to talk to your teen while you wait for your oat milk to steam.
Parenting is the best. It’s also hard. Brightline is making it easier by keeping you connected to your child and to their care.

Children's mental health can decline during the summer. Kids and teens may experience increased anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms due to changes in routine, excessive screen time, and feeling isolated from friends.
Do you think your child may be suffering from a summer slump?
Take our mental health quiz to find out: https://hellobright.co/3KSQZFW
As parents, we know the importance of a routine - especially for neurodivergent children. So what happens when summer comes, bringing less structure and way more free time? Without the consistency kids get used to at school, even the simplest activities (including the ones they normally enjoy) can feel like a challenge.
Find out how to navigate summer schedules in our new blog post "Tips on Summer Planning with Neurodiverse Kids." Read it here: https://hellobright.co/3VObN7y

As a parent or caregiver sometimes we need to take a deep breath 😮💨. Our quiz can help you understand what might be causing those meltdowns, mood swings, and anxieties. 😵💫

One thing every human has in common is that we all have to figure out our authentic selves and where/how we fit in the world.
For kids and teens, this process can feel pretty overwhelming — and it can sometimes lead to challenging emotions and behaviors. Given the unique experiences that LGBTQ+ and BIPOC kids have, the overwhelm can feel even more intense. Having the right support can play a huge role in a child's overall well-being as they navigate their way.
Brightline has two coaching programs dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ and BIPOC kids between the ages of 6–17. Each uses evidence-based strategies to help kids explore their racial, cultural, gender, and sexual identities. Parents can choose an age-appropriate program to help their child learn the skills that will help them embrace their unique identity while learning the skills to cope with everyday challenges they may face.

Pride month is here! It's a perfect time to remind families that Brightline prioritizes culturally-competent and affirming care for LGBTQ+ kids and teens.
Why this is so important to us? Because according to The Trevor Project, 56% of LGBTQ+ youth who sought mental health care in the last year couldn't find it.
At Brightline, your child will find a safe space to explore their identity and the unwavering support they need so your whole family can thrive.

Here are a few things to watch for and keep in mind as you consider their mental health needs:
In our modern world of constant access, instant gratification, and social media comparisons, life can be hard — especially for teenagers. Even the most outgoing, confident child may be experiencing some social anxiety.

Your child’s brain is as much a part of their body as an elbow or a leg. You wouldn’t let a wound go untreated — and there’s no shame in helping kids name and manage their big emotions, struggles, and issues. The term “mental health” is not bad and the subject shouldn’t be taboo. But the stigma is real. And if that stigma has been hard for your family to release, watch this quick video as Kelly Sisler, Brightline Therapist, breaks down how Brightline can help.

Understanding the mental health of your kids — symptoms, struggles, and patterns — can be overwhelming and baffling for parents. The lack of education and stigma around being vulnerable enough to just talk about it are two of the reasons mental health continues to be such a taboo topic.
As a parent, it can be scary to ask for help. But what you might be facing can be even scarier. Not sure where to start? Brightline’s expert behavioral therapists have six ways you can create a healthy, open space for honest talk at home: https://hellobright.co/3ykJ0OE
All behavior is communication. But decoding what your child’s behavior is trying to tell you can be a challenge — especially when everything is always changing.
Join us for our webinar as we explore common behaviors that kids and teens often exhibit, and when they could mean your child is struggling with mental health issues.

Less screen time for kids = better sleep for kids = better sleep for parents.
Just like us, our kids spent time on screens every day. In small doses - it's ok. Screen Time can even have benefits!
But all that blue light can suppress the production of melatonin, a.k.a. the “sleep hormone" - making it harder for your child to fall and/or stay asleep.
Giving up all screens isn't realistic, but we have some tips to help your family cut back. https://hellobright.co/4aaUJwS
On average, women provide 20 hours a week of unpaid care - putting them at a greater risk for depression, anxiety, and burnout.
And yes, this includes women who work outside the home. Women need more support today and every day.

Feeling burnt out?
As a caregiver, you spend hours making sure people in your care are fed, hydrated, safe, and healthy. It's noble work, but it leaves little time for yourself. If you're unwell, you won't have the energy to take care of the people who need you. Remember to take care of yourself too.
We know... easier said than done.
