SUPPORT OUR MISSION. LET'S FILL THESE SEATS!
The School Fund's 2024 Match Day Campaign is only five days away. If you have not done so already, please set a calendar reminder for next Wednesday, September 11, and include our website address - www.theschoolfund.org. Donations made to students profiled on the TSF website on this day will be 100% matched, up to $30,000.
You may not realize it, but most developing countries only offer compulsory (i.e., paid) education up to the eighth grade on average. The School Fund's mission is to raise scholarships for students aspiring to continue their education beyond elementary school because we believe that education is the most powerful tool to overcome poverty, to increase equality, and to expand opportunity.
Many of you responded to my previous post about Match Day, seeking additional information on the donor-student journaling function of the TSF platform. This unique feature allows you to communicate securely with your sponsored students, provide encouraging words, or simply get to know them better. I have shared some of these dialogues below, highlighting four of our exceptional students and acknowledging four of our generous contributors.
Therefore, consider joining Nicole, Steve, Kelli, and Cindy in providing the gift of education to a promising young individual aspiring to continue their studies at the secondary/high school level. Your forthcoming generosity is greatly appreciated.
Tim McKenna Admittedly, I am biased as the Executive Director of The School Fund, but I believe our bottom-up approach of letting donors like you choose what student to financially support, guaranteeing that 100% of that donation goes to the student selected, and even providing a messaging function to allow donors and students to communicate with each other, is incredibly effective in ensuring that young men and women who want to continue their high school education get the financial assistance they need so that they may continue to move forward and keep dreaming of endless possibilities. Please consider helping our cause by donating today or during The School Fund's Match Day Campaign on September 11. Thanks & God Bless.
The School Fund’s Match Day Campaign is one month away on September 11, when donations made via www.theschoolfund.org will be DOUBLED!
Incredibly, this means that for the cost of a daily Starbucks over a one-month period, you can fully finance one year of schooling in India – to include tuition, books and uniform – or help support a student in South America or Africa.
To date, some 5,000 TSF supporters have funded scholarships to 1,661 students who have completed 4,370 academic years of schooling.
We invite you to join our ranks and support TSF to continue its mission of increasing equality, expanding opportunity, and helping to overcome poverty through the gift of an education! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

The School Fund extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to our 2023 Match Day Campaign. TSF received 312 donations from 184 individuals totaling $50,944 via our website on Match Day. This figure excludes the ‘matching pool of funds’ generously donated by a few anonymous benefactors. Including these and other non-web-based donations, Match Day proceeds totaled nearly $100,000. And based on the average tuition of all students profiled on The School Fund platform, this tally will allow 162 young men and women to remain in school so that they may continue to pursue their dreams. Again, thank you for your wonderful generosity.
Today is Match Day!
The SIGNIFICANCE of every dollar invested in education should not be underestimated.
CONSIDER, for the equivalent of a daily coffee fix at Starbucks, you could fund the annual education of FOUR students in India or TWO students in Kenya or ONE student in Ecuador.
And the IMPACT of investing in education provides benefits far beyond the experience of learning, as the gift of an education lasts a lifetime.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Introducing the Power of Connection: A Heartwarming Letter Exchange 💌
Here at The School Fund, we believe in the incredible impact that a single act of kindness can have on someone's life. Today, we are thrilled to share a heartwarming story of the connection between one of our generous donors Susan and Faith, a bright, ambitious student who received life-changing support. Click https://theschoolfund.org/cgi-bin/dyn?c=view&t=student&i=7500 to meet/donate to Faith.
The School Fund platform provides a rare opportunity for direct communication between a donor and the student(s) he or she supports. When Faith and Susan exchanged heartfelt letters, it was a beautiful moment of connection, bridging the gap between two individuals living on separate continents. It exemplifies the true spirit of The School Fund, where the power of empathy and generosity unites people from different walks of life.

Barbara’s altruism has profoundly touched the lives of these students as well as countless others within their families and communities.

Sony 2023 World Photo Award Focuses on How Education Empowers Girls
The Sony 2023 World Photography Awards were announced last month and 1st Place in the Creative category went to Lee-Ann Olwage Photography for her collection titled, ‘The Right to Play’. The work focuses on what the world can look like when girls are given the opportunity to continue learning in an environment that supports them and their aspirations.
The School Fund commends Lee-Ann for choosing such an important subject and we congratulate her first-place achievement. We also salute the nonprofit, Kakenya's Dream and The School Fund’s field partners in Africa, South America and India for their resolute efforts to educate young men and women in their communities and empower them to dream big.

www.theschoolfund.org’s newest board member, Mohamed, recently returned from a trip to Kenya, where he experienced the life-changing impact our local partners are making on the ground.
The School Fund is committed to supporting the mission of local schools and partners who work tirelessly to empower economically disadvantaged students through education. Mohamed's visit to the dedicated team and students at Thika Girls Karibaribi Secondary School was truly inspiring.
Together, let's keep making a difference by bestowing the gift of an education.
The School Fund team congratulates Barbara Hofmann, the Founder and President of ASEM, for receiving The Ahmadiyya Muslim Peace Prize, which is presented annually ‘in recognition of an individual’s or organization’s contribution for the advancement of the cause of peace.’ Barbara was actually named the 2019 recipient of the award; however, the COVID pandemic delayed the formal presentation of the honor until last month when she received it at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London.
Barbara founded ASEM (Association en faveur de l’Enfance Mozambicaine) in 1991 and has spent the past three decades endlessly supporting the health and welfare of children and young adults in Mozambique. Today ASEM provides education and vocational training as well as healthcare and social support to thousands of young men and women annually helping them to prepare a better future for themselves and their families.
The School Fund has partnered with ASEM since 2014 to raise scholarship money via our crowdfunding platform – www.theschoolfund.org – to keep high potential, but financially disadvantaged young men and women in school in order that they may continue to pursue their dreams.
VDO Call Reminder, 2/23 - The Transformative Power of Education
You are invited to an interactive video chat with The School Fund Board Member, Mohamed O. Mohamed, who will highlight his incredible journey focusing on the life-changing impact of education.
Born in Somalia, he was forced to flee to a Kenyan refugee camp at the age of 16 due to prolonged civil war in his home country. After three years in a refugee camp, he was given the opportunity to immigrate to the United States as a refugee and start his life anew. Despite not knowing the language and lack of consistent, formal education up until this point, Mohamed understood that education was the key to unlocking a better future. As a result, he worked tirelessly to achieve it. He attended Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana University for his undergraduate degree and is presently pursuing his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Driven by his passion for education and its transformative power, Mohamed actively advocates for access to quality education for young men and women across the developing world. Please join us this Thursday to hear Mohamed’s first-hand account of his wonderful journey and to learn how you, too, can help support others to unlock their potential by simply gifting them with a key to an education.
